Liu Shaoqi was one of the personages of the first Central Committee aswell as the exploiter and founder of the socialism career which possesses Chinesecharacteristics. He dedicated to studying the combination of the basic theories ofMarxism-Leninism and Chinese realities. During the process of reflection on the method andapproach to socialism construction as well as the comprehension and practice about thequestiones " What is socialism? How to build it?" Liu Shaoqi achieved Prometheancontribution together with experiences and lessons. His socialism construction ideology is thetheoretical expression of the development course and tendency in the 20th century in China.The purpose and significance of this study not only consist in the discussion about thefeasibility and reference of these concepts then and nowadays, but also in the ponderation onthe adaptability of the Chinese socialism construction mode to the Chinese situation as well asthe understanding and mastering of the modernization construction rules.This paper aims to study some important ideologies of Liu Shaoqi's Socialismhistorically, dialectically and objectively from the macroscopical and microcosmic views. Itfocus on the analysis of many factors such as the background of that age, internationalsituation, internal position, primary tasks, personal experience and subjective conditons inorder to target at some important ideologies of Liu Shaoqi's Socialism, practical features andindividual characteristics. Through exploring and unscrambling the Party's importantliteratures and Liu Shaoqi's composings, this paper carries on integrated analysis, study anddeduction with rational attitude and scientific spirit and consequently it generalizes LiuShaoqi's ideology about Chinese socialism construction.Four chapters are included in this paper:1. The first chapter discusses Liu Shaoqi's ideology of the transformation from the newdemocratism to socialism and analyzes its forming and content. It illuminates Liu Shaoqi'sideology about the new democratism's features: transition and phase;about the primarycontradictions and assignments in the new democratism society and about how to solidify thenew democratism. From the view of the construction of Chinese characteristics, this papertries to explore Liu Shaoqi's ideology of the transformation from the new democratism tosocialism and finds that it has instructional and reference meaning both in practice and theory.Meanwhile it explores its historical limitations.2. The second chapter analyzes the guidelines of Liu Shaoqi's socialism economicconstruction and pays attention to the discussion about Liu Shaoqi's ideology that economypossesses the leading position and the construction should be based on the Chinese suitationand we should push the policy of industrialisation. This paper affirms Liu Shaoqi's worshipfulcourage that he persisted consistently that the economy possesses the leading position andilluminates the guidelines of Liu Shaoqi's socialism about economic construction plays animportant role in the socialism economic construction. Meanwhile it analyzes the positiveinfluences on the socialism economy construction which possesses Chinese characteristicsbrought by the guidelines of Liu Shaoqi's socialism about economic construction.3. The third chapter refers to the connotation of Liu Shaoqi's ideology about socialismeconomic system's reform and discusses Liu Shaoqi's great contributions to the ideology ofsocialism economic system's reform and illuminates the reference function on reformationprocess nowadays brought by the prime of his ideology " to use the economic method tomanage economy". Otherwise, this chapter analyzes the reasons why his ideology couldn'tpersist in practice any longer.4. The fourth chapter offers the systemic expounding of Liu Shaoqi's ideology aboutsocialism democracy construction and analyzes his contributions to enrich and develop thisideology in the view of system, theory and method. The last chapter evaluates highly LiuShaoqi's contributions to socialism democracy construction and points out the limitations ofhis ideology.
