The paper explores the relation between the identity and international cooperation. It is composed of three parts: introduction, text and conclusion, amounts to 170,000 characters.The author tried to analyze international cooperation at an idealistic visual angle, at the beginning of introduction, the author reviewed some western international relation theory about culture, identity, norms and international institutions, and explained why she chose the visual angle of identity and pointed out the paper's academic and practical significance. Then the introduction described current research situation of international relations theory in academic circles and also told the framework, approach, important and difficult points of the paper. Finally, the author raised some corrective assumes as the paper's basis.The first part of the text analyzes the connotation and the formation of the identity in theory. Firstly, the author defines the connotation of identity in two aspects: somebody's identity and reach an identity of views, and whole paper's discussion is focusing on the two aspects. Then the author points out that the identity is a concept of relation which indicates the interrelation between ego( self) and other(the doer in different levels) and the interrelation is embodied in the doer's interaction practice. On the basis of analyzing some factors which influence the formation of identity, the author constructs the process of the identity's formation in two aspects and emphasizes that the process of the identity's formation is a process that the nations obtain the identity as a member of international society and identifies the international society's norms and regulations. The process shows that the identity isn't unalterable, it can be constructed by the interaction between the international society's actors. The benign interaction constructs the positive identity and the malignant interaction constructs the negative identity. Once the identity formation, it will play the independent role in international relation with changing the actors' views about their interrelation.The second part of text mainly discusses the relation between the identity and international cooperation in theory.
