The purport of this paper is trying tentatively to analyze and criticize the later thought of Rawls' political liberalism through the outspread of pictures of classical, modern and post-modern timesThe main task that Rawls in his later period is faced with is to investigate how people can better cooperate among themselves during pluralistic times and keep an ideal state of perpetual harmony ,steadiness and development in civil society as well as in "Society of people".Therefore, prior to the understanding of his solution, we should first make a historical understanding of the pluralistic problem . (That is to say), we have to understand it in the light of classicality, modernity and becoming post-modernity. The first step is to separate the pluralistic phenomenon from the classical perspective, pointing out that modern pluralistic problem comes into being from a totally different social condition, and that it is a superficial and split phenomenon based on a newly united society. At the same time, we have to be aware that although modern pluralistic problem can no longer be understood through the classical disaster-perspective, that is not to say it is peaceful in modern society. On the contrary, due to the special quality of modern society's united basis, it is bond to bring about multi-disasters ten times fearful than in ancient society. Furthermore, modern pluralistic problem has its local color when it first appears. When the problem spread all around the world, it is inevitable to be tainted with local colors. Therefore, I will investigate its cause and effect within a typical locality in order to make sure that such locality has possible influence on the solution to the pluralistic problem.On this basis, Rawls' solution is mainly the following: using the independent political world as platform, and using the notion of political justice that people all agree upon among themselves as guide, and under the precondition of combining each other's specific qualities, every country should construct the principle of justice and the system of constitutional government that meet with their internal social demands and establish the principle of law of peoples within people's society as well as in the whole world in the limited sense, so as to form a new social order in pluralistic times. Rawls regards this task as the establishment of "realistic Utopia ", which is absolutely not an expedient but a great step from ideal theory to realistic practice.Rawls' theory has caused many disputes.
