Filial piety education is the sum of the practice activities which aim at affecting the educatee and training them to have filial piety. It includes not only the educational activities in schools, but also in the family and society's publicity and education activities.The origins of filial piety education can be traced back to primitive society of the education of respecting an ancestor or offering a sacrifice to ancestors and the education of providing for or respecting the aged. These educational contents, which include the filial piety education factors, laid the practical foundation for future generations'filial piety education. Be in the Xizhou period, filial piety education came to being. Why filial piety education came to being in the Xizhou period depends on Country an integral whole social structure. In Year and Warring States Period, there was a lot philosophers and theoretical. In the contending and the exchange between the different schools, the theory of filial piety education was basically completed during this period. These theories laid the basic content of filial piety education in ancient China. In the safeguard of the educational policy of Sided emphasis on Confucianism, the court of the Han Dynasty made full use of a relatively complete theory of the first Qin Filial Piety Education and practiced filial piety education in full swing. The social structure of the Han Dynasty had a feature that the country was analogous with common family. This feature was the intrinsic foundation of filial piety education of the Han Dynasty. Move filial piety to loyalty is the underlying goal of the Han Dynasty filial piety education.In the Wei, Jin, Northern and Southern Dynasties and the Sui and Tang Dynasties, filial piety education both showed the characteristics of unofficial, but they had different reasons. In the Wei, Jin, Northern and Southern Dynasties, there were three reasons. First, filial piety still had important value for the ruling class. Second, nobles and powerful family called for the strengthening of filial piety education. Third, filial piety had been deeply rooted in people's heart during the Han Dynasty filial piety education which lasted hundreds of years. In the Sui and Tang Dynasties, most of the rulers were relatively less emphasis on filial piety. This was the main reason that filial piety education showed the characteristics of unofficial .In the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, filial piety education became more and more popular, and it was accepted by more and more people. The forms of filial piety education were great and abundant. Filial piety education in feudal society reached its peak level during this period. At the same time, Filial piety education became more and more rigid because of its hypocrisy and feudal. T he popular of filial piety education in the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties was caused by variety factors which including historical basis, economic development and the growth of the literati class.In the educational practice of feudal society, filial piety education had been dominated by the core and the primacy place. It was decided by the intrinsic value of the filial piety. First, filial piety had the ethical value, because filial piety is the base of virtue. Second, filial piety had the political value, because filial piety helps to rule the world. Third, filial piety had the security value, because filial piety is benefit to achieve the older persons'happiness. The ancient filial piety education has a dual nature in modern people's eyes. From the aspect of educational substantive, the ancient filial piety education both has the nature of educational and authoritarian. From the aspect of educational contents, the ancient filial piety education both has the nature of people and feudal. From the aspect of educational forms and ways, the ancient filial piety education both has the nature of scientific and confinement.In modern time, filial piety education still has very important value. Combination of contemporary social reality, filial piety education not only has important moral sense but also has significance of old-age pension. At the same time, filial piety education helps to establish a fair and reasonable modern parent-child relationship. Filial piety education can promote intergenerational harmony, family harmony and the whole social harmony and stability. It is the inherent requirement of building a harmonious society. However, modern filial piety education is faced with a number of adverse factors and already in the real dilemma. The main adverse factors include three aspects. First, changes in the structure of modern family weakened practical basis for existence of filial piety. Second, the impact of western culture has shaken the Chinese people's trust and support to filial piety. Third, negative influence of market economy also has impacted modern filial piety education. The real dilemma includes four aspects. First, contemporary people are lacking in emotion to their parents. Second, some external security of filial piety, such as respect-old cultural, social media and related social norms, etc. is weakening. Third, there is a certain contradiction between the filial piety with the spirit of the times such as innovation and independence. Fourth, child has more and more difficulties to practice filial piety because the 421 family will increase in China.If we want to response to the unfavorable factors, get rid of the real difficulties, and give full play to the positive value of filial piety education, we must change it and make it be consistent with requirements of the times. The modern change of filial piety education is dialectic negation to the traditional filial piety education. Meantime, it need to learn some elements of the West intergenerational culture. Further, modern filial piety education should take people as the foremost and paying close attention to individual happiness. Modern filial piety education should take novel filial piety as its educational content. Among them, stimulate emotion to one's parents and improve the discretion is the core. Core substance of modern novel filial piety includes loving parents, supporting parents and being gratitude to parents. It is rooted in people's psychological sense of being gratitude to parents. It embodies the moral feelings of loving parents. It ask the children to carry out moral responsibility of supporting their parents. Parents and children is equal on personality and status. This is the premise of novel filial piety. With the lifestyle is changed and quality of life is improved, modern people's concept of practicing filial piety should change and more and more flexible and user-friendly. In order to respect for the freedom and rights of the child generation fully, we should encourage people to use simplify, liberalization and diversification way when they want to practice filial piety in modern filial piety education.
