China's Modernization Factors (1895-1945)

With the impact of gunboats of the western powers, China was forced to embark on a modernization path, exploring the difficult process of modernization, The process of China's modernization and China became a semi-colony almost the same time, with the decline of internal and external marginalization made the process of Chinese modernization boacome a hard road. In 1895 ,it was a turning point in China's modernization, Japan end the center role of China in the East Asian order, and in the next half-century, Japan became the biggest impact of external factors. In this paper the process of modernization of China from 1895 to 1945 split into three periods:the modernization of the Qing Dynasty, the Northern Government's modernization, the modernization of the Nanjing Government ,in the three historical periods , Japan had a profound impact on Chinese politics, economy, culture and education, ideology, etc.This paper on Japan's relations with China's modernization process started around two main lines in this three periods, on the one hand, the successful experience of Japan's modernization was considered most suitable to carry out in China, China set off a wave of studying from Japan , New Deal modern mode of the Japan transplanted in China, China's modernization was considered as the reference of Japan to a certain extent, Japan affected the depth and breadth of China's modernization, China's modernization process since then was based on the New Deal further forward. On the other hand, after Japan entered the modern road and embarked on the road of aggression and expansion, China had become Japan's biggest victims. As Japan's aggression and plunder completely interrupted the process of China's modernization, in half a century, Japan become the biggest destroyer of China's modernization process, the demise of Japan's aggression in China eventually expelled the two parties cooperated to resist Japanese imperialism, preparing a prerequisite for modernization of China . This paper focuses on two main lines of how Japan affect this half-century of Chinese modernization.The first chapter is about the wave of the modern world and modernization theory .Firstly, discusses the history evolution of modern theory and modernization theory in the main content of each historical period and exploring the process of modernization in China combined with the actual production of the modernization of their theory, the study of China's modernization process theory. Secondly, discussing China and Japan under a tide of modern world. After UK, with an irresistible tendency to spread to other countries around the world,modernization and it's expansion in the world decides any country whould be involved in that process. China and Japan are involved in the modernization of the porssess is in the way the Western powers's invasion to China and Japan.Under the impact of the Western powers, China and Japan were forced to embark on the road of modernization. Different attitudes between the two countries decided the different outcomes , this outcome had a profound impact on Sino-Japanese relations.The second chapter is about the modernization process of the Qing Dynasty and Japan. Firstly, analysis the transformation process Japanese concept in China after Sino-Japanese war'defeat, this mades a psychological premise for Reform Movement, the Reform Movement idea is to follow the Meiji Restoration in Japan .Although Reform Movement'time is short, hasty and radical , the result was strangled by the diehards, but it made the first comprehensive modernizational programs and measures. Secondly, analysis the modern changes in the Qing Dynasty's third New Deal, the change not only inherit the Reform Movement ideology, but go farther than the Reform Movement. In New Deal,Japan had impact on China's modernization process from the two aspects:institutional change and ideological change.Finally,analysis the 1911 Revolution and Japanese impact. 1911 Revolution not only created a democratic political system, changed the traditional ideas, promoted the development of national capitalist economy, but the 1911 Revolution have a close relationship with Japan, in this Revolution , the Japanese government and private individuals involved in it had profound impact on the success of this revolution holding different purposes which they or support or hinder the Revolution .The third chapter is about the modernization process of the Northern Government and the Japanese. Firstly. Described the NorthernGovernment political modernization, and in the party politics of the flourishing and developed a modern democratic political system. Secondly, the northern warlords Group and the Japanese imperialists in collusion, betrayal of national sovereignty and interests of rights with responsibility for the support of Japanese imperialism, Japan's participation led to the development of China's political modernization twists and turns. Secondly,analysis the capitalist economic development and investment in China from Japan through the form of loans lead to a destructive effects on China's modern economy. Finally,the outbreak of a series of national democratic revolution in China, especially in a post-war occupation of Japan led Shandong rise of Chinese nationalism and patriotism at all levels, promoting nationalism emerged as a powerful spirit of China's modernization power.In 1921 ,birth of the Communist Party of China combined the Chinese revolutionary road with Marxism ,finding a new way to modern development.Chapter IV discusses the National Government's modernization and Japan. Firstly,analysis the Nanjing government's modernization and Japan. In 1927, the KMT government in Nanjing realize the establishment of a unified form in China , in its inception, the National Government has made a series of efforts in its modernization road ,and have made some achievements, to some extent,promoting process of modernization. Secondly, is about the impact of Sino-Japanese War on the Modernization of China. Japanese invasion in 1937 pushed China to the brink of survival, China's modernization process was interrupted, but did not stop, modern elements were accumulated. Finally, the core of Sino-Japanese War and the rise of new and modern leadership. In the Sino-Japanese War, the KMT-CPC cooperation achieve the War of resistance against Japan , China's modernization become from passive to active. In the process of against Japan , China has gradually increased the power of the Communist Party, won the support of the people, the people chose the Communist Party of China's as leader of modernization of China's .In the defeat of Japanese imperialism, which the largest source of interference in China's modernization, China has created the premise of modern nation-state. The modernization of China has now entered a new historical period.
