| China has been faced with new opportunities and new challenges for development in the wave of economic globalization, since China began its reform and opening up. On the one hand, the material living standard of people has been improved significantly with the development of economy for over thirty years; but on the other hand, ethical progress falls behind compared to material progress. Inflation of thing want, poor of cultural life and indifference between people makes people be lost. The lost of human spirit has reached a crisis point. Therefore, it is a pressing task vital to China at present to concern human beings and return to human spirit. Based on conceptual analysis, historical analysis and comparative analysis on the issue of human spirit, the dissertation tries to figure out a way of return to human spirit and gain the inspiration on establishing the system of socialist core values.Human spirit is a historical category. At first, the dissertation defines the relative concepts including human spirit according to etymology. Then, the dissertation has an explanation of human spirit in the historical course of civilization. Finally, the dissertation comes to the three meanings of human spirit in contemporary China combining the history with reality, which is confirming rational material demands, and opposing unlimited material desires; focusing on people's cultural life, and seeking meanings and values of human life; and paying attention to the relationship between human beings, and advocating mutual affections.The lost of human spirit has its historical and realistic reasons. In addition, it can be threefold:first, May Fourth movement objectively made the human spirit in the traditional cultural and modern civilization interrelated by denying Confucianism completely. Second, all kinds of social thoughts are constantly emerging with the progressing of reform and opening up. Hedonism, ultra-individualism, and rationality debase human spirit seriously. Finally, to pursuit the maxims profits and encourage competition in the market economy threatens human spirit in the real life.We must get back human spirit from human civilization to overcome the crisis of human spirit. Confucianism as the symbol of Chinese culture is full of human spirit thoughts. Irrationalism and religions in the west world also focus on the human spirit. What's more, Karl Marx's theories always pay close attention to human spirit, such as the theory of production, the theory of alienation and the theory of the human all-round development in communist society and so on.To review the history is for return the reality; the return of human spirit must take root to China's contemporary society. Nowadays China is building up the system of socialist core values to make socialist ideology more attractive and cohesive, and in this system, putting people first is its most important character. Thus, the human spirit and the system of socialist core values have a common value. Return of human spirit plays a very important role in establishing the system of socialist core values. The dissertation proposes the solutions as to build up the society of prosperity for all, concern on human all-round development and full of affections based on the historical logic of human spirit and the real conditions of temporary society. It will inject new life into China's harmonious development by integrating the return of human spirit and the buildup of the system of socialist core values. |
