Generally, science can be classified to natural science, social science and literae humaniores. Any kind of science has its own research emphases and the emphases have been transferred in the 20 th century. Then, in this background, natural science, social science and literae humaniores are changing. Educational science, which has the natures of both social science and literae humaniores, must also be changing. Its emphases must be transferring.Emphases transfer of educational research is an imperative educational issue. To probe and discuss the emphases transfer of educational research has significant meanings of theory, reality and development. This dissertation uses Harvard Educational Review to do a case study. It is a demonstration research on articles in Harvard Educational Review from 1931 to 2000. To make it concrete, this dissertation tries to find out how the educational research emphases are transferring and the reasons behind it by studying the article theme's quantitative change. As regards other questions, such as: what is the significant meaning of focusing on emphases transfer of educational research? Why choosing Harvard Educational Review as an example? Readers can find the detailed discussion in the introduction part of this dissertation.By statistics and analysis on Harvard Educational Review, the emphases transfer of educational research can be concluded to three aspects:I. Emphasis transfer on values-orientation of educational research, from "subject standard" to "issue standard". The year of 1960 can be a mark. Before 1960, the educational research especially emphasis on "subject standard" research on the basis of educational philosophy. After 1960, the educational research incarnates a trend of"issue standard". It is especially demonstrated a trend of focusing on educational policies. The issues in "issue standard" are not only limited within educational field, but indicate more general-existing social issues. Educational research attaches high importance on kernel issues. It unfolds educational research around the solution of kernel issues. Educational research pays attention to solving social problems. On the other hand, solving social problems improves the development of educational research, promotes social progress.II. Emphases transfer on the scope of educational research: from "educational interior" to "educational exterior". Before 1960, the educational research mainly focused on " educational interior" research. However, from 1960s', educational research began to be interested in society. Educational research not only shows great care on social issues, but also focuses on the social involvement. Such as the interference and support form government, families and communities. This trend of educational research is just owing to the need of society and the need of educational research itself.III. Emphases transfer on the goal of educational research: from "pedagogy object" to "pedagogy subject". Before 1970, educational research emphasized on the "object" aspect, emphasized that teaching efficiency is the kernel. After 1970, it obviously demonstrates the care about two subjects, teachers and students. Educational research shows more and more human concern.In the last part of this dissertation, it discussed the enlightenment to our country's educational research on the basis of above research. There are several enlightenments to our country's educational research. (1) There should be problem-consciousness in educational research; we should consider the problem as the kernel to drive educational research; focus on educational policy research. (2) Stress on educational exterior research, improve the development of our country's educational research. (3) Educational research should emphasis on teaching subjects research. It is necessary to point out that when we use foreign research for reference, we need to make it suitable for our culture's root.
