Urban Communities Emotion Research

The thesis focused on researching the community emotions of city dwellers and its influencing factors in the present transforming period of our society, and attempting to study the basic organizing form under the new situation through the angles of "human beings" and community emotion of city residents. The thesis consists of following three sections.Section oneIntroductionStarting with analyzing the concept of community along with reseaching the community view of various academic genres, such as Human Ecology, compositional Theroy, Shubcultural Theroy, Social System, Social Anthropology, Social Actio, Urban Planning etc., based on the territory standard, the community concept is divided into territorial community and non-territorial community or psychological community which are to be studied respectively. Above all, this thesis reviewed the main theories and viewpoints of domestic and overseas community emotion reseach, then came up with three hypothesisses regarding the developing issues of community in China: hypothesis of urban community and community emotion exsitence, hypothesis of main influencing factors of community emotion, and hypothesis of psychological community constructing of incomers.Section TwoThe Community attachment Study:By implementing the Systematic Study Mode of M. Janowitz and Social Network Analysis of M. Granovetter, the author set off her analyzing from the psychological & geographic communities of urban dwellers, and the correlation between them. Through looking back the overlapping extents of the psychological & geographic communities varied in the different historical eras and their necessary separability, she also approved the existence of psychological communities andSupportive social network of urban dwellers and disproved the theory of Social Capital loss. And then, by furthering his analyzing into the urban geographic community emotions and their affective factors, the author approved the existence of community emotions, and regarded them as the valuable ties to connect the social groups and maintain the public orders. The author found out that it is the community satisfaction that finally affected the community emotions of the people, and consequently initiated his study of them and their affective factors. After correlation analysis, cluster analysis, and factor analysis, she gave advices on the sequential arrangements in our domestic urban community construction of these factors and the developing trends of the communities in the near future.Section threeThe Rational Thinking of the Construction of China' s Urban Communities: From the angle of the city layout, the author retrospect the development of urban communities and theoretical evolvement of urban communities, and drawn the conclusion that the focus of the urban community construction has shifted from"substance" to" human" , from "supervising" to "meaning" , from physical area to psychological scale, and made a large quantity of verification study of the community construction and development in U.S.A. , U.K., and Singapore etc. Ultimately, on the basis of reviewing our domestic urban communities construction issues, the author gave advises on the sustainable development of our community angled from humanism, and advocated community layout and construction mode as the"the lower to the upper" (public participating), "the lower join the upper" (under the instruction of the government).
