Since reforming and opening up to the outside world in 1978, China has entered the overall transitional period. The current social transition belongs to the mode of development of economy-orientation. The social auxiliary reform lags behind though the economy has sustained a fast speed growth. . With the massive social conflicts unresolved by the reform, the side effect of the reform is emerging and the reform itself becomes more difficult to deal with. In the 21st century, there are some subtle changes about the relationship among reform, development and stability. The most striking is that insecurity and social conflicts, threatening the stability, are cropping up. Therefore, the social conflicts are focused as the basis of study in this thesis.The thesis falls into six parts.Foreword is about the reason of study. It mainly deals with the analysis of conventional theory of social conflicts and how to solve it with political social science.The first chapter is about the social transition and its characteristics by shaping the form of social conflicts in transition. This chapter focuses on the conflict of interests, idea, etc. Meanwhile, in this chapter, three cases are chosen, that is, citizens' removal under the order of government, change of system about state-owned enterprises and the rural administration reform in Shanghai, which is expected to helps make new social conflicts acknowledged in the transitional period.The second chapter is about the characteristics and origin of social conflicts in transition. Among all these conflicts, the non-antagonistic conflicts are the mainstream in terms of inbeing., but the antagonistic elements are accumulating. This chapter attempts to induce and analyzethe origin of current conflicts.The third chapter focuses on the multi-analysis of social conflict with such theories as politics, sociology and economics to cover the movement logic of conflict and stress the importance of the law of conflict to solution.The fourth chapter put forward the suggestion to restructure the system of conflict solution. A new supporting systems is outlined by integrating party, government, society and law for the conflict macro-solution .Study social conflict is to handle it better. The epilogue of the paper put emphasis on tuning the relationship among reform, development and stability on the basis of the situation of our country and relies on the institutional innovation.
