One of the educational missions is to deliver mainstream culture; teachers fulfill doing so through their educational and teaching practice. From logic perspective, educational and teaching practice undertaken by teachers may result in three situations: the first is to fail to deliver mainstream culture; the second is to be able to basically deliver mainstream culture; the third is to be able to effectively deliver mainstream culture. Corresponding to the aforesaid the three situations, teachers can be roughly divided into three categories: unqualified teachers, qualified teachers and good teachers. As educational and teaching activities by teachers are subject to the influence of teacher culture, to judge whether teachers fulfill their educational and teaching work and whether teachers prove qualified or good is based on the conformity of teacher culture with mainstream culture and the degree of conformity. In another word, the biggest contradiction teachers have to cope with is the one between teacher culture and mainstream culture; the objective teachers pursue is to make teacher culture in agreement with mainstream culture. Mainly based on a case study in No. 2 high school, Guangxian county, this thesis is intended to investigate what teacher culture is exhibited at the county-level high school in a particular school social environment and hope to enhance teacher culture with a view of promoting the delivery of mainstream culture. There are a lot of methods to study educational and teaching activities, but one of common features in the field is to seek common ground while reserving differences. Their common goal is to seek universality after individuality is rejected. Such a method usually deprives teachers of individuality and avoids the social relationship in which teachers are staying and therefore shows no good to arouse the sympathetic response of teachers; another feature of the method is to seek take-for-granted value orientation. The method is not conducive to link up what is in reality and what should be expected and transform the former into the latter, so the author used the method of narration to display and explore the reality of teacher culture on the basis of seekingdifferences among universality. The paper mainly analyses the manifestations of teacher culture in terms of teacher classroom teaching practice and teacher interactions. From classroom language teaching activities, the following values can be found: adhere to traditional value as a technical tool, lessen the value as a political tool, strengthen humanistic value; the teacher culture exhibited in the classroom teaching is basically in line with the mainstream culture represented in course syllabus. Teacher interactions are the autonomous ones under the organizational formality and constraints, which displays teacher culture in another way.The author believes that considering the reality of the high, school in question, school based training which will strengthen teacher collaboration and further improve teacher interaction within organization is an effective approach to enhancement of teacher culture.
