Simply, Narrative is a kind of spoken or written account of events or stories. However, the truth is not so simple, and this definition can not include the whole connotation of narrative. In fact, narrative also has rich potential. Therefore, not only has narrative existed since the beginning of human society, but also it is regarded as "a basic way to be cognizant of the world, society and individuals".Although educational narrative, as an important member of narrative family, has already attracted people's wide attention, it has not been deeply discussed. When people speak of educational narrative research, they usually direct towards the topic after slightly explaining and begin the narration of educational subjects with researchers' comments or analyses, which has shrouded intentionally or accidentally educational narrative itself. What they have done is able to exhibit part value of educational narrative, but can not open sufficiently and entirely its potential. In order to understand educational narrative better and make its potential sufficiently be exerted, this thesis is going to extend and analyse educational narrative from connotation grasp, value likelihood and mechanism aspect.On the base of interpreting narration with multiple definition, analyzing structure and inner charm, etc., educational narrative is simply summed up to an activity which narrates events in the education life . Although educational narrative has the same inner structure as general narratives, its concrete indication has already changed. This activity takes on some key characteristics, such as reflecting, constructing, minimizing, breeding, practicing, etc., which can be divided into multiple types according to different criterions. Although educational narrative correlates with stories, words, events, cases, etc., in some degree, it even distinguishes itself from them.Educational narrative has multiple value likelihood as follows: first, there is matter virtue and narration virtue interlaced with each other in educational narrative. At the same time, even there is sublimation of narrative moral experience made during the education narrating. Second, education wisdom is created with knowledge transferred to wisdom and thought amended. Not only will educational narrative make an impact on people's cognition and experience about the narrated events, but also such cognition and experience will influence its future educational practice, that is to say, education wisdom will be created. Third, educational narrative contains the pursuit of apprehension, but also it enhances education understanding by experiencing comprehension process, by displaying self-understanding and by causing inter-apprehension, exalting people's intellects. Fourth,educational narrative needs the participation of imagination. It will inspire the imagination by providing genes to foster imagination, handling makeup narrative techniques and with special narration styles. Fifth, educational narrative, especially some types of it, not only can be directly regarded as comp6sing, but also helps to improve writing ability of the educational narrative subject through offering writing materials, writing training and writing practice. Sixth, not only does educational narrative filter and embody evaluation, but also it leads educational evaluation in evaluation stamp, evaluation manner, etc.. The former represents displaying self-evaluation and emphasizing qualitative evaluation, while the latter comports itself with dynamic double evaluation, directness fused with indirectness and reflection evaluation. Seventh, educational narrative does not just simply narrate events. It has laid the foundations of fostering education research with providing research materials, promoting teachers' development and deepening research manners.The reason why educational narrative has so much value is that it is perhaps related to factors involved.
