The progress of the study of educational history is inseparable from the innovation of the research methods of educational history.The study of educational history in China began in the early twentieth Century and to form a set of their own research paradigm to the end of twentieth Century after nearly a century of development.At the turn of the century,great changes have taken place in the academic ecology both at home and abroad.The traditional educational historiography gradually reveals its own limitations,for example,the content of the research is limited to the educational thought and the educational system and ignores the other educational history;the research perspective is confined to the macro view of "top-down" and ignores the"bottom-up" micro perspective;the object of the research is confined to the upper social elite and neglects the common people;the focus of attention is confined to the static educational achievements and neglect the formation and development of education;the narrative mode is limited to the theoretical language while ignoring the narrative language,and so on,which deepen the crisis of educational historiography.At the same time,a new research method of educational history is hatched in the new academic ecology,inspired by the "narrative turn" in the humanities,such as history,pedagogy,philosophy,sociology and so on,the narrative of educational history has been put forward as a new research method of educational history.The narrative of educational history introduces the narrative research method into the field of educational history,to excavate the educational history of the ordinary people in the society under the neglected of traditional educational historiography,to construct the narrative text unity of history and literature,trying to show the daily life of education in history in a narrative way.This thesis is divided into six parts to explore the new method of educational history narrative:The first part is the introduction,which mainly expounds the research background,the research significance,the research status both at home and abroad,the core concept as well as the research mentality and the method,the innovation and the defects.The second part firstly analyzes the limitations of traditional educational historiography paradigm,then analyzes the new academic trends of the "narrative turn"trend,on this basis,this paper puts forward a new research method of educational history narrative.The third part discusses the theoretical basis of the narrative of educational history from the perspective of history,pedagogy,educational history and other humanities and Social Sciences.The fourth part explains the theoretical connotation of educational history narration from five aspects:the perspective of research,research objects,historical date,research methods and expression method.The fifth part analyzes the application conditions of narrative research of education history,and discusses the five basic steps of narrative research of Education History:found the problem,choose the object of research,data collection,construct the narrative framework,writing narrative text.The sixth part is the epilogue,which explains the possible limitations of the narrative research in the history of education:cause the "fragmentation" of the history of education,reduce the representativeness of research and weakening the academic nature of educational historiography.
