It is clear that there is a serious problem of how to tightly integrate the existing educational resources in the era of information; it is less clear what that problem is.This paper presents a hybrid approach to it; also, both in philosophical and in scientific perspective, deciphers Virtual Tutor System, a new term in my words.Chapter one outlines the aims, the significances, the innovations, and the whole fabric of my study.Chapter two briefly reviews the history of the applications of A.I. and V.R. in education.Chapter three focuses on the nature of intelligence, virtual environment, and their educational value.Chapter four expands the theory of teacher's professional development into the design of Virtual Tutor System.Chapter five, chapter six and chapter seven technically enlarge on the realization of Virtual Tutor System part by part.Chapter eight sums up the conclusions and points out the future work being expected.In a word, teacher's professional development, a novel trend in the research on education, as well as educational technology, a new discipline of education, are the two subject matters between which my dissertation essays to bridge.
