Child's play exerts an important function on child's development, culture forming and value orientation. The kind, place and time of child's play, however, are getting less and less, resulted from more and more industrialization and urbanization in China. What is more serious is that the contemporary child's play, especially in urban areas, has been emerged a tendency of distorting child's pure instinct, lapsing from child's essential life and alienating the nature, under a variety of influences. The Chinese educational circle does have some alert on it, but the relative researches are not so many.Child's play researches in China consist of two parts. The research on young children's play in kindergarten among the preschooler educational circle is one of them, and the research on children's folk play among the folklore circle is another one. The circles of psychology, education, cultural anthropology and other social science have such researches, though, without their systems and sizes.
