Nowadays, talent and knowledge are the most important strategic resources for economic and social development, universities commit to cultivate qualified personnel and make knowledge innovation, transfer various knowledge and relative carriers. Under such background, the paper pays much attention to the competence of knowledge output and knowledge contribution of universities from the perspective of knowledge transfer. Through theoretical and empirical research, two primary problems are studied. One is relationship between knowledge and scholarship, knowledge transfer and scholarship productivity, the other is research model for scholarship productivity of universities in the perspective of knowledge transfer.Chapter 1 gives a summary review about focuses on knowledge transfer and scholarship productivity, and reveals that researchers who study knowledge transfer do not turn attention to universities, and those who study higher education do not show interests in knowledge transfer, therefore few researches explore scholarship productivity with the angle of knowledge transfer. Within this backdrop, the paper finds its research orientation and significance of above chosen topic, and then introduces the purpose, research lines and methodologies of the study.Chapter 2 discusses the literature on subject matter, with a specific emphasis on the relationship between university and knowledge, knowledge and scholarship. First, reviews the relevant conceptual literature on knowledge and scholarship, and explains the close connection between university, knowledge and scholarship due to knowledge need from outside of university and knowledge advantages held by university. Second, discusses productivity theory and its relation with knowledge, and then finds way to integrate scholarship and productivity. In the end, delimitates the meaning of knowledge, scholarship and scholarship productivity in this study. All the work gives a good foundation for further research about scholarship productivity in the perspective of knowledge transfer.Chapter 3 includes three sections. The first section analyzes process and mechanism of knowledge transfer, and draws out its elements: one object, two subjects and two courses.
