Educational theory guiding educational practice is regarded as the essence of educational theory at all times, that educational practice is guided by educational theory is regarded as the necessary premise that educational practice is rational. The author consider that the point of view is based on educational theory and educational practice are simply regarded as embodiment of theory and practice, which are taked natural science theory and technical practice as a standard. Therefore, the author consider that we should think about educational theory and educational practice and their relation from the evolutive process of theory and practice. Educational theory is the kind of pratical knowledge, is researcher's comprehend to educational practice based on his knowledge and experience; educational theory is not a kind of methodological knowledge, but a kind of existential knowledge. Educational practice is a kind of practicer's existence; it's objective is itself; it's object is concrete and integrate individual; their relation is aupair and comprehensive.According to the text's comrehend to educational theory and educational practice and their relation, the author consider that the funcion of educational theory to educational practice comport three sides.First of all, educational practicer gain elicitation from educational theory. The elicitation hasn't prsupposition, is different from educational theory guiding educational practice.Sencondly, educational theory is able to help educational practicer reflect. The "reflection" in the text isn't the dualistic critical reflection but the hermeneutic reflection. The causation that educational theory is able to help educational practicer reflect is mostly educational theory is only theoretical logic. What theoretical logic evoke is not action but thinking. Educational theory is able to buildup reflection consciousness of educational practicer, and advance reflection ability of educational practicer.Finally, for value seletion of educational practicer, educational theory is the direction. Value is the realization of essenec of human being, value seletion is the kind of humanual existence, all one's life is the process of value seletion. At one time, educational theory and educational practice is the expression of researcher and practicer's value. Therefore, educational theory is the direction of educational practicer's value seletion, and able to advance the ablity of value seletion.Of course, the function of educational theory to educational practicer is infected by the diathesis of practicer, educational policy and the cognition of education essence.
