Justice and fairness are core values of a harmonious society. Presently, the general lack of sense of justice among our citizens has impacted the construction of a just and fair society. Therefore, the cultivation of sense of justice for university and high school students, which is responsive to the severe social reality, is no doubt a topic of great importance in the field of ideological and political education.A review of literature on the cultivation of sense of justice in ideological and political education reveals that the previous research attached great significance to cultivating sense of justice from the angel of theoretical guidance in the construction of harmonious society and inherent requirements in justice and ethics, and sought for contents of cultivation and approach in response to current situations with declining sense of justice. This research method cannot combine a myriad of cultivative factors, thus failing to make a persuasive theoretical response to the current decline of social justice. This dissertation identifies the cultivation of sense of justice as the object of research, establishes itself in the moral practice of university and high school students in their social lives, explores the current situations of sense of justice and its cultivation amid them by empirical investigation, analyzes the plight for cultivating sense of justice, and attempts to come up with positive and effective cultivative strategies from a multi-faceted and multi-layered perspective. Detailed research methodology and methods are as follows:Above all, a good knowledge of the current situation on sense of justice amid university and high school students comes from a knowledge of the practice of justice on their.part. Consequently, the theory of practice on sense of justice is proposed from the view of the educated subject in this dissertation. The practice of sense of justice by university and high school students is mainly dependent on the subject's conception of justice as well as his practice inclination. Several conceptions of justice have been recognized as important and influential to the practice of sense of justice among university and high school students, including ecumenical ethics on justice virtue, conceptions on Marxist justice and justice of Sinicism of Marxism, and conceptions on Chinese traditional cultural justice and current social member's justice under the market economy condition. Also, conception on Rawls'justice of fairness and integrity is vital, because it has profound referential significance to building a harmonious society of justice and fairness. Additionally, the subjects of practice are university and high school students. The subjects'features permeate throughout the practice of justice, such as cognition, emotions, behaviors, evaluation, and ect.. Theoretical study on these two aspects not only provides a theoretical basis for the status of practice of justice by university and high school students, but also offers theoretical support for the analysis of survey results and the discussion of cultivative strategies. In the second place, the results of the survey can be summarized as:lack of primary comprehension of sense of justice by some university and high school students, restrained emotions of justice, neglected proper principles in the selection of behavior, and less rationalized methods and contents of justice assessment. In addition, the status of university and high school students' sense of justice are compared. In the third place, when probing into the current situations on sense of justice, we realize that it is a challenge to analyze the dilemma and repressive factors in the cultivation of sense of justice among university and high school students. From process, the dilemma contains two aspects—formation and reinforcement of sense of justice, in other words, how the justice virtue develops from nothing to something and then from puniness to prosperity. From mechanism, repressive factors in cultivating sense of justice manifest themselves in the subject, object, and torus of moral practice. Based on the theories of sense of justice and the results of empirical investigation, this dissertation tries to give a detailed analysis to the dilemma and repressive factors in such respects as political system, economic system, social administration, cultural transmission, community, schools/colleges and families.Last of all, this dissertation focuses itself on path selection and countermeasure study in the cultivation of sense of justice among university and high school students. Path selection on cultivating sense of justice is directed by the introduction of theories concerning the cultivation of sense of justice in multi-disciplinary fields. This research believes that family and school education lays a solid foundation for the cultivation of sense of justice among university and high school students; that community life sets examples and provides opportunities for students to demonstrate their sense of justice; that society security and society control serve as an important momentum and motivation for university and high school students in their practice of sense of justice; that the environment of ego works as a valve for such practice; and that the virtual network environment provides new methods and styles for students to express their sense of justice. This dissertation puts forward detailed cultivation strategies concerning each and every one of the above-mentioned respects.
