An Analysis On Social Value Of Knowledge In The Perspective Of Morality

Knowledge itself cannot be classified as good and evil. However, as far as the social value to the development of society is concerned, there is proper knowledge and improper one. At present, the development of knowledge tends to be economized, shortened and materialized, which indicates the feebleness of ethnics'predicament. This thesis explores the social value of knowledge from the perspective of moral philosophy. By analyzing the social value of knowledge, the author tries to answer the following questions: How can we understand knowledge? Where is the moral spirit of the social value of knowledge? What is the essence of knowledge? What is the pointing direction of the social value of knowledge? What is the sudden manifestation of it? What is the practical predicament during the achievement of the social value of knowledge? And how can we solve the predicament? Theoretically, the thesis aims to provide a complete understanding of the social value of knowledge from the perspective of moral philosophy. Practically, it influences people's views toward knowledge, and seeks for a practical approach to the production and application of knowledge, which accords with the long-term profits of human-beings.The analysis to the social value of knowledge focuses on the investigation to the multiple views of epistemology, and the moral implication of the social value. By analyzing the moral predicament of the social value of knowledge, it explores the approach to solve the predicament.Firstly, the thesis defines knowledge, social value, moral standards and moral predicament. It also probes into the meaning of knowledge to the relationship between human-beings and the world, to the practice of human-beings, and to the primary relationship among human-beings.
