Operation Decision-making Research Of Shipping Enterprise--Ship Investment And Routing

Nowadays, shipping companies are confronted with great challenges that competitions in the market is increasingly intense after financial crises because the gap between transport supply and demand is greater with a vast of surplus supply; in addition, they are assigned a taught task to develop our country into a strong maritime country from a large one in order to promote the economic and trade. It is significantly imperative to achieve the enterprise strategy goal and historical task mentioned above, that they culture capacities of operational decision-making and enhanced effectiveness and efficiency of management. Thus, improving correctness and science of decision-making by using advanced management technology and optimization methods is urgent and management trend in the shipping enterprises.Ship investment and ship routing are key decisions in shipping enterprises and research objectives in this paper, they are both affected each other in decision contents and results. Ship investment is beginning of operation, which determines productivities. The appliance problem of them is combacted in the process of ship routing, and new investment requires may be proposed during this process. Additionally performance evaluation system is established to inspect the correctness and implement of tactics adopted, in order to form a rounded research frame by result feedback.Firstly, to ship investment under high uncertainties, a model synthesizing real optional theory and fuzzy risks evaluation is proposed and classic B-S model is applied to pricing ship investment project. Secondly, in order to maximize the transportation profits and make the best use of fleet, a mathematical model with two objectives for ship routing is established, and genetic algorithm is designed accordingly. As for performance evaluation, the indicator system is built according to the characteristics of operation in shipping and the indicators for competition companies in industry and commerce. All the models and methods in the paper have been tested via case and results of them are excellent.
