International Relations And Major Events On Inbound And Outbound Tourism

In the background of globalization, with the fast development of international tourism, domestic and foreign scholars have already analyzed the flow direction, flow velocity of international tourism, which is not only the basis of tourism flows research, but also make the huge contributions to solve the practical problems of international tourism. However, most of scholars are only concerned about the economic benefits, and ignore the tourism political nature. Few scholars analyze international relationship and national politics from the international tourism phenomenon. Actually, international tourism is a high degree of political behavior, international tourism has close connection with international tourism. The impact of crisis events and benefical events in international relationship to international tourism is huge, and international tourism can enhance understanding, ease or improve international relationship in a sense. Therefore, the relation between international relationship and international tourism is a new frontier of tourism science, which has important theoretical and practical significance.Taking maga-events in international relation as the breakthrough point, based on Tourism Background Line Theory, Tourism Area Life Cycle Theory, Conflict and Operation Theory, selecting three key indicators such as the number of inbound tourists, growth rate and the proportion to outbound tourists, constructing three ideal curves, quantitatively measure the impact of maga-events in Sino-U.S, Sino-Japan, Sino-Korea, Sino-Russia, Cross Strait, Mainland-Hong Kong relations to tourism. The contents are as follows:(1) Constructing concept model of international relation and international tourism. From the mechanism of international relation and international tourism interaction, considered prerequisites of international relation and tourism, this paper construct concept model, make the judgment criterion to measure the impact of international relation to international tourism, broaden the theory and method of international relation and tourism research.(2) Discrimination of maga-events in international relationship. This paper focus on the government and people's different opinions toward one event, try to understand the opposite side's view. The method of events analysis is confirmed by the "conform-correspondence" principal of "discrimination of events, analysis of mechanism, confirmation of result" in criminal detection.(3) The analysis of the impact of maga-events in international relationship to international tourism. By discriminating the maga-events in Sino-U.S, Sino-Japan, Sino-Korea, Sino-Russia, Cross Strait, Mainland-Hong Kong relations, based on TBLT and TALCT, this paper analyzes the impact and mechanism of maga-events to international tourism.(4) Dynamic game analysis between international relationship and international tourism. This paper try to analyze the dynamic game mechanism between international relationship and international tourism based on Game Theory, and discuss how to balance their dynamic relations from nation management viewpoint, which can offer the theory and method reference for political tourism research.The results are as follows:(1) International relationship is the most important factor to affect international tourism. International relationship can be divided into three levels from the structure viewpoint, which are political relations in government level, economic relations in enterprise level and the personnel flows in nongovernment level. In a sense, international tourism can be considered as personnel flows which are highly restricted by governmental political relations.(2) The strength of crisis events in international relationship has direct effects to the tourist losses. By analyzing the impact of Sino-U.S, Sino-Japan relation to international tourism, this paper found that "Government issued vigorously denounce and made the military exercise" was the most influential crisis event, such as "U.S intervene Cross Strait Crisis in 1996"; the effects of provocation to China's basic political stand came next, such as Sino-Japan Schoolbook Event, pay homage to Yasukuni Shrine, and Diaoyu Island event; diplomatic statement of strongly oppose, great indignation had less impact on international tourism, such as Air Crash and Expode Embassy Crisis.(3) The strength of profitable events in international relationship has direct effects to the tourist growth. By analyzing impact of Sino-Korea, Sino-Russia relation to international tourism, this paper found that "establishing diplomatic relations" and "lift the restriction on tourism" was the most influential good event, such as "China and Russia reestablish relations" and "Korea lift the restrictions on tourism"; the effects of "signing the travel agreement" came next; "signing economic agreement", "signing free trade agreement" and "good-neighborly treaty of friendship and cooperation" also impacted the tourism, but the effects were different because of the diversity contents.(4) There was dynamic game between international relationship and international tourism. Based on Game Theory, the "dynamic game between international relationship and international tourism were divided into three types. This paper analyzed the different game between China and U.S, Japan, Korea, Russia, and the special game between Mainland and Taiwan, Hong Kong.The innovations in the dissertation are as follows:(1) This dissertation focuses on the impact of international relationship to international tourism from political perspective, which broading the theory and practice of tourism political science.(2) This dissertation sets up the index system to measure the impact of maga-events in international relation to tourism.(3) This dissertation divides the maga-events of international relation into six level by its strengeh. (4) This dissertation contructs game model between international relationship and international tourism.
