Research On Open Innovation Based On The Coordination Of Technological Capability And Network Competence

In the developm ent of econom ic knowle dge, a new m odel of technological innovation called open innovation em erges. Compared with the closed innovation ,open innovation is a new way of knowle dge creation. It can fully use the heterogeneous knowledge in and out of th e organization and re alize the knowledge exchanged between or ganizations to prom ote inner -organizational and inter-organizational knowledge creation. Op en innovation research m ostly based on the theoretical exploration stage, empirical and systematic research is rare. Therefore the research m echanism of open innovati on, based on two capabilities and the influencing factors of open innovation, can i mprove the developm ent of open innovation and propose practical guidance to firms.With literatu re research, qu estionnaire investig ation, typical case stu dy, mathematic statistic and SEM model, the main content and results of this research are listed as follows:Firstly , the research analyzes two capabilities of open i nnovation: technological capability and network com petence. The m odel of open innovatio n based on coordination of the two capabilities is proposed. W ith typical case study and mathematic statistic, the research proves that firm innovation perform ance based on the coordination of technologi cal capability and network competence is highest and there is interdependence between technological capability and network competence.Secondly, two paths of fir m open innovation developm ent based on the m atch between technological capability and network com petence are proposed. Further, the features of two paths are carefully explained according to HuaWei Company.Thirdly, the research analyzes in fluencing factors of open innovation from external support elem ent, environm ent f actor and firm factor. External support element includes governm ent, innovation serv ice organization and the intellectual property protection system . Environm ent f actor includes m arket environm ent, technology environm ent and regional environm ent. Firm factor includes internal support element and mechanism of technological learning.Finally, Factor analysis, correlation an alysis and S tructural Equation Modeling (SEM) are used to validate the in ternal mechanism between the two capabilities of firm open innovation and innovation performance. the two capabilities are affected by external support elem ent, environm ent fact or and firm factor . The path relations among the influencing factors, the two capabilities and perform ance are found out . This model provides a reference fram ework for Chinese high technology enterprises implementing open innovation.
