Spillover Effects Research Of Enterprise Interregional Direct Investment

The technological spillovers from the interregional direct investment (IRDI) is a fast development way to the developing nation or area. So it is always a hot research topic to the economic and industrial cycle. In order to reduce disparity among three areas, in recent years, the west sped investment promotion up obviously and the key investment promotion orgins came from the east and the middle area interregional direct investments (IRDI).The technological spillovers is the important content which affects to the host country or areas. The paper aims to research the technological spillovers of the east and the middle area IRDI which may fill in a research theory blank about the technological spillovers.The paper has carried on the research in the following several aspects:(1) The enterprise interregional direct investment is the research object of the paper and its academic definition is put forward after referring to the existing FDI literatures. The enterprise interregional direct investment phenomenon is summed up the macroscopic characteristic, the investment reason, the fund flow and the enter pattern evolution;(2) Based on a consistent Malmquist productivity index based on nonparametric approach with manufacturing industry and coal industry data from 1999-2006, the article compute TFP and divides the TFP into TEC and TE. The paper establishes the enterprise interregional direct investment technological spillovers measure model by which these results is respectively the dependent variable and take the host enterprise research and the enterprise interregional direct investment as the independent variable;(3) The paper refers to the existing FDI literatures to compile questionnaire which combines with industry reality of the western area, and takes use of the DEMATEL method to obtain the influence factors of the technological spillovers, including enterprise research and development investment, enterprise human capital investment level, investment origin, competition degree, technical disparity and enterprise scale and so on. The crucial factor lies in correctly treating competition between local enterprise and the outsiders;(4) In order to overcome the spurious regression phenomenon, this article uses the BP Multiple Structural Breaks method to test the convergence of 1949-2006 coal output data of six affluent provinces in the Western China and the two-regime TAR to test the convergence of 1978-2006 provincial manufacturing industry data in the west. The conclusion is that the observed period is steady from 1999 to 2006;(5) It measures that the technological disparity, the investment origin, the competition degree, the research and development investment influence respectively to the technological spillovers with the economical measurement model. The measurement has obtained some significance conclusions;The article main conclusion and the innovation spots are following:(1) The FDI diagnosis findings showed that the host enterprise research and development investment is advantageous to absorbing the technological spillovers.The west manufacturing industry technological spillovers result also supports this conclusion, however the result of the coal technological spillovers is opposite, because of the extensive management characteristic of the coal industry;(2) Differ to FDI, the bigger technological disparity is greatly advantageous to promote the host enterprise to obtain TFP technological spillovers. Although the smaller technical disparity is advantageous to the absorb TEC, the bigger technical disparity group's TE contribution is larger than TEC contribution of the smaller technical disparity group after comparison;(3) The IRDI from the eastern region is more helpful to advance TEC and the IRDI from the central region is more helpful to advance TE. The technological spillover of the coal industry is relative to the phase of coal exploitation. The earlier is the phase of exploitation is more thorough, the bigger is technological spillovers. The earlier phase of coal exploitation only can obtain the technological efficiency.
