Research On Certain Problems Of Low-carbon City Construction

Global warming has become an indisputable fact currently. The average global temperature has increased by 0.74℃in the latest 100 years. As to the sustainable development of global nature, economy and society, global warming has become an obstacle. In this context, the human rethink the traditional industrial civilization of production and life, and constantly looking for new development path and development model to seek its own sustainable development. Therefore, the philosophy of low-carbon has come into being, and extended to the field of economy and urban construction. Low-carbon economy and low-carbon cities are the application and practice of the philosophy of low-carbon in the area of economy and urban construction. Its essence is to decline greenhouse gas emissions mainly in the form of carbon dioxide under the premise of sustainable development of economy and society to achieve the objective of reducing global warming.In this paper, Marxist theory and ecological civilization theory together with low-carbon economic theory, theories of urban ecology and sustainable development are as the main guide; on the basis of theory and case study, empirical analysis and normative analysis and other methods, the links and differences between ecological civilization and other related theories are elaborated in detail; The construction of low-carbon cities is explored under the guidance of ecological civilization theory, and the stage of urban development is divided into two according to the philosophy of the changing process of urban development, including quantitative and qualitative stages of urban development. Only after the introduction of ecological theory can low-carbon urban construction be different from other kinds of urban construction, whether in the development philosophy or the development model. The most important feature of low-carbon city is the city is treated as a nature-human-society (economy) ecosystem, in which the elements can be mutual promotion and common prosperity within the organic links. With low-carbon urban construction, ecological, economic and social benefits can be achieved and the three benefits can be integrated and optimized, that is, low-carbon cities can both be "low-carbon" and "economic". On the basis of definition of low-carbon cities, according to the factors of low-carbon cities, take Xiamen City and Guangzhou City as actual case, the city's carbon emissions is estimated; that urban carbon emissions is mainly in the production, transportation and living areas is analyzed and summarized.Based on the above theoretical analysis and empirical research, the construction of low-carbon city suggestions are proposed mainly as follows:developing urban low-carbon economy; establishing the concept of ecological civilization and developing low-carbon consumption system; developing energy-efficient transportation system; developing low carbon living environment; enhancing the city's ability to address global climate change; establishing urban carbon emissions assessment system.
