New Economic Era Of Enterprise Information System Development And Application Of Strategy

Business Informatization is the process of develop and harness information resource widely and thoroughly by means of modern information technology, in order to achieve automation of business manufacture process, networklization of management method, intelligentization of decision support and electronization of business transaction. It improves the efficiency and effect of manufacture, operation, management and decision continuously; therefore, it boosts the benefit and competitive edge of enterprises. Enterprises are the fundamental units of national economy, so the level of Business Informatization is the foundation and crux of national informatization. Symbolized by the concept of "New Economy"brought forward by 《Business Weekly》in December the 30th,1996, the living environment of enterprises has become drastically different from that of industrialization era. How to develop and implement enterprise information system in "New Economy"era is a matter of public concern among enterprise users, management software firms and academy researchers. This dissertation explores the evolution of enterprise living environment and manufacture modes at first, then analyze the new traits of management needs in "New Economy". In this way, it derives the main function demands and architecture requirements of enterprise information system. Furthermore, it discusses relevant software technique to fulfill the function and structure requirements. Finally, it takes into account current situation and problem of civil "Business Informatization"; puts forward implementation strategy for enterprise users and countermeasures for civil management software companies. Based on this step-by-step analyze manner, innovations in this dissertation can be summarized as follows: 1.Business administration in "New Economy"era has something radically different from that in industrialization era, which was symbolized by mass production. In "New Economy"era, collaboration by means of competition is the fundamental strategy of business administration; virtual organization is the new organization pattern for enterprises to adapt itself in changing world; knowledge management is the new emphasis in business adminstration; and process management is the new mode of business administration. 2.The main function requirements of enterprise information system can be categorized as three areas: ERP, SCM and CRM. ERP focuses on the integration of materials flow, capital flow and information flow in an enterprise. SCM intends to optimize collaboration between supply chain nodes. CRM endeavors to make full use of customer resource. Internet provides a convenient and economical way of communication, thus SCM and CRM develops quickly. Supply Chain Collaboration has been paid more and more attention. In the mean time, ERP is facing new challenges: accommodating legal and cultural conventions in various countries and regions; supporting centralized management; constructing enterprise information portal to realize the dream of"log on once, access information anywhere"; implementing knowledge management to connect "those who know"with "those who need to know"and convert personal knowledge to organizational knowledge; handling workflows with workflow management system to accomplish process management. 3.Business information sytems should support intimate cooperation in and among enterprises, so the macrostructure of enterprise informationsystems is process integration among enterprises. The emergence and development of web service provides new realization means for process integration among enterprises. The modeling and control of business workflows should be independent of business functions and business rules, so that enterprise information system can accomadate ever changing organization structure and business workflows. In order to accomplish integration of finance and operation, the microstructure should adopt the pattern of "business event driven". 4.This dissertation discusses the software techniques for fulfilling the requirement of functions and structure in three ways. From methodology aspect, the adoption of object-oriented methodology is of no doubt. The bus-based system model has dominant advantages in the level of openness, integration and efficiency. In the view of software engineering process, the combination of RUP and UML is prevalent. As to development tools, both J2EE and visual stuio.net are appropriate. J2EE supports multiple platforms with one programming language, while visual studio.net supports multiple programming languages on one platform. The main advantage of J2EE is it already has many success samples in enterprise applications, while the main advantage of visual studio.net is it provides a very efficient integration development environment. 5.Only with the supplementation of appropriate implementation strategy, can advanced information system be worthy. In the process of "Business Informatization", enterprise users should exert their subjective initiative and creativity. They should make an overall long-term informatization plan; focus on one problem at one time to continuously improve the level of "Business Informatization". The outstandingshortcoming of civil management software companies is the shortage of kernel techniques, excellent software architects, and business experience and management concept. They should commit themselves to the market of medium and small enterprises; improve their ability of software development, customer service and marketing.
