Study Of The World's Energy Security

Energy is an important material basis on which human's survival and production depends. The history of human society has a direct bearing on how human beings recognized and utilized energy. In the contemporary era, energy resources and their exploration not only directly affect the development of human civilization and socio-economy, but the newly arising issue of energy security produces an increasing impact on the security of the world economy and international politics. By means of analysing the connotation and denotation of"energy security"and making a general study of the strategies of energy security adopted by the major energy producers and consumers in the world today, the dissertation aims at establishing China's energy strategy, safeguarding its energy security and arousing the Chinese people to attach great importance to energy security.From the perspective of international political economy, this dissertation tries to discuss the whole context in which the issue if energy security comes into being, namely, the interaction between economic globalisation and energy security. It proves the strategic position of energy security in economic security structure, examines the energy security strategies of some major energy producers and consumers one by one and finally discusses China's energy security strategy. The paper is well organized with progressive discussion about each question; every chapter is both independent and closely connected.At first, the issue of energy security falls into the category of economics. It relates to the energy production, consumption, sources and transportation. Therefore, as an important component of economic security, energy security is closely related with the security of national economy and world economy. Meanwhile, it is a concept of traditional security, and also a multi-layered and complicated issue which involves such elements as politics, military and diplomacy of a country, region or the whole world at large. Energy security is not only associated with traditional security elements, but also intertwined with non-traditional security elements, so energy security is a politics problem ,of which a world international politics and international connection especially.
