With a basis of systematic and comparative analysis of relevant theories, this article put out a clarification of the scientific implication and fundamental idea of green economy theory. The author holds that sustainable development theory, cycle economy theory and green economy theory overlap in content and share common nature of dealing with relationship between human beings and nature and among human beings, and achieving harmonization; at the meanwhile, each has its own center of weight. The "green" within the context of green economy theory, is a symbolic language in economics and is used to symbolize high degree unification of life, energy, social benefit and ecological benefit.
