Study On Factors Influencing The Economic Function Of Central City And Their Coordinate Mechanism

The economic function of central city is the key part of city functions. Its enhancement and upgrade determines the multi-factor coordinating mechanism of urban economic function. This dissertation aims at promoting the multi-factor coordination in order to enhance the economic function of central city and advance the development of urban and regional economy. Focusing on the stimulating effect of the economic function of central city on regional economy, the dissertation carries out a thorough study. Firstly, it defines the object of the study by explaining the urban economic function and that of central city. Then, it discusses how to enhance and advance the economic function of central city through the study of internal factors influencing economic function of central city which are level of urbanization, urban scale, industrial structure, urban management and urban government administration. Thirdly, it studies the relationship between economic function of central city and urban system, urban economy and regional economy. Therefore, the dissertation adheres to the researching approach of combination of single-factor research and holistic research and emphasizes on the multi-factor coupling research while carrying out single-factor analysis. It stresses on the multi-factor coordination of the economic function of central city and builds a coordinating mechanism model of enhancing the economic function of central city by multi-objective linear programming. Finally, the dissertation provides theoretical and empirical basis for enhancing economic function of central city through the case study. Altogether, adopting comparison analysis, mathematical analysis, econometric analysis, positive analysis and normative analysis, the dissertation makes a thorough study of the factors influencing the economic function of central city and their coordinating mechanism.The dissertation is divided into eight chapters. The first chapter is the introduction part, introducing the significance of the study and reviewing the relevant research done at home and abroad. The second chapter is the analysis of the economic function of central city, which includes the connotation of central city, its economic function and characteristics, the relationship between economic function of central city and urban economic function, and the relationship between central city, urbanization and urban economy. After illustrating such relevant information, this chapter concludes the general law of the economic function of central city and provides basis for a complete analysis.
