Supply chain inventory management(SCIM) is an integrated approach to the planning and control of inventory, and it is focused on the end-customer demand and aims at improving customer service and lowering costs. Recently, the problem of deteriorating inventory has received considerable attention. As it is well known, this is a realistic trend since lots of items are either damaged or decayed or vaporized or devaluated or effected by some other factors and are not in a perfect condition to satisfy the demand. In this dissertation, by use of an approach combining the quantitative model and qualitative analysis, the inventory policies of deteriorating supply chain are studied based on decentralized inventory control(DIC) and supply chain(SC) coordination.Chapter 1 introduces the development of supply chain management(SCM) and the conception of deteriorating items and outlines the related research work. From chapter 2 to chapter 4, based on the former work, we consider quantitative DIC of SC, and improve the former models and theoretical results. In chapter 2, we firstly analyse Chang's EOQ model, and then give a correction to relevant results of Chang. With the same conditions as , we extend the constant demand and deterioration rate of Chang to the time-varying demand rate and a two-parameter Weibull distribution in a retail supply chain. Consequently, we obtain an easy-to-use policy to find the optimal replenishment interval.Due to uncertainties in the production processes in a manufacturing supply chain, Kim and Hong derive three stochastic EPQ issues. However, they don't consider deterioration of items. Based on their results, we solve three relative problems of deteriorating items in chapter 3. In the first issue, we make the assumption that the process is subject to a random imperfection from an in-control state to an out-of-control state with an uniform distribution. The second one considers the optimal production run length under three processes which are subject to constant...
