The Supplier Selection Research Which Is Based On Supply Chain Management

From 1990's, with the advent of economic globalization and market competition intensifies, supply chain management and supplier management have gained more and more attention by scholars and companies. More and more companies started to strength the cooperation with suppliers, especially to make compact relationship with strategic suppliers. So it is a very important concern to select the right supplier that suit to the requirement of company's development and that have a good development foreground. How to select the right supplier, choose which index and adopt which methods to evaluate the suppliers are the main concern of this thesis.At the beginning of the thesis discuss the research background, status of research both at home and abroad, and summarize the basic principle of supply chain management and supplier selecting. Then study the classification of supplier and detailed analysis the targets of supplier selection and evaluation and methods. Afterward traverse the selection & evaluation procedure of supplier from how to select supplier, idiographic reference points and control methods etc. I set up a new system of supplier selection and evaluation from four aspects: production management competence, compatibility, technical competence and cooperative attitude, and apply AHP in supplier selection. Finally using a chemical company's supplier selection case, demonstrate the detail calculation method in data analysis. So an integrated framework of selecting supplier is gradually founded.
