Modes And Methods Of Supply Management Based On Classification Of Demand In Process Industries

In the production operation and management of process-oriented enterprises, supply management has attracted more and more attention from scholars and enterprise supervisors.Presently,the study of supply management mainly focuses on the purely material demand forecast and inventory decision-making method,but rarely combining them with the demand characteristics together.Therefore,under the frame of certain supply management mode,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to do the material demand forecast and inventory decision-making based on the characteristics classification of the material demand.This thesis will systematically research on the supply management mode and development trend of process-oriented enterprises and propose the corresponding demand forecasting ways and inventory decision-making system on the basis of classification system of material demand characteristics.Moreover,it has achieved a relative good effect proved by dozens of practical researches in the background of a domestic petrochemical enterprise.The whole essay falls into eight chapters,the main contents are as follows:Chapter 1 mainly retrospect on the related literatures regarding supply management mode,spare part inventory management,raw material and subsidiary material inventory management etc,explaining the importance,contents and methods for the study of this essay.Chapter 2 introduces the main contents of procurement management mode and inventory management mode for process-oriented enterprises,and puts forward the development trend of the above two management modes,integrating with the present theoretic research and management practice.Chapter 3 mainly study on the characteristics of spare parts and raw material and subsidiary material for process-oriented enterprises according to their production operation features,bringing up the spare part classification system,raw material and subsidiary material classification system founded on the material demand features.Chapter 4 presents the common ways for the forecast of intermittent demand for spare parts in process-oriented enterprises,especially focusing on the IFM(integrated forecasting method) proposed by the whole research team,putting forward the spare part demand forecasting method system corresponding to its characteristic classification.Chapter 5 introduces the common ways for the forecast of raw material and subsidiary material demand,proposing the raw material and subsidiary material demand forecast methods system corresponding to the production plan's characteristics,including production plan uncertainty and lead time uncertainty.Chapter 6 focuses on the usual devices for inventory control.According to the material demand characteristics of process-oriented enterprises and material demand forecasting methods system,proposing the corresponding control ways for spare part inventory and raw material and subsidiary material inventory.Chapter 7 is founded on the deeply research on a domestic petrochemical enterprise.Applying the study achievement of this essay,including supply management mode,classification system of material demand characteristics,material forecasting method system and inventory decision-making devices,the author develops the enterprise IDSS(inventory decision-making supporting system) alternated to their ERP R/3 system under the help of the whole study group.This supporting system has been proved by repeated practical study on the decision making of spare parts inventory and raw material and subsidiary material inventory,obtained a good result which is fully approved by the enterprise.Chapter 8 sums up the main contents and conclusion of the whole essay, generalizing its main study tasks and innovations,and points out the work need to be further carried out in the future.The main innovation of this essay is as follows:(1) The essay analyzes and summarizes the main content of procurement management mode and inventory management mode of process-oriented enterprises, probing into the development direction and trend of these two modes.(2) Based on the intermittent characteristics of spare parts demand,the essay puts forward the spare parts classification system for process-oriented enterprises,and the corresponding forecasting methods for spare parts demand and the system of inventory decision-making method.(3) Founded on the demand characteristics of raw material and subsidiary material in process-oriented enterprises,the essay classify the raw material and subsidiary material according to the uncertainty of production plan and order lead time,forming the corresponding system of forecasting and inventory decision-making method.
