A Research On China's Logistics Base Of Strategic Iron Ore Reserves

At present, the supply and demand of China's iron ore resources is facing serious challenges, China's iron ore reserves are small, and the quality is relatively low so that the sharply fluctuation of price takes great effect on the development of China's iron and steel industry. Therefore, the intensive study of China's logistics base construction of strategic iron ore reserves is a necessary requirement for sustainable development. This essay focuses on the logistics base construction of strategic iron orereserves as following points. First, the research on China's iron ore import demand and the scientific forecast. Second, the writer makes a deep research on the size of strategic reserves of iron ore. This chapter combines economic theories such as supply and demand elasticity, cross-phase selection and cost-benefit analysis to carry out the cost-benefit analysis of strategic reserves of iron ore. Third, the writer takes a research on site selection of the strategic reserves of iron ore logistics base. In this chapter, on the basis of the existing method of logistics base selection, the writer also considers the actual demand of iron ore reserves, then setting up a site selection model. Fourth, the strategic reserves of iron ore logistics base management system research. This chapter takes United States and Japan's successful experience as examples, and then determines our national strategic reserve of iron ore operation and management system. China's strategic reserves of iron ore should implement a combination of private reserve and governmental reserve, which is highly centralized and unified. In addition, this chapter also designs the main body of China's strategic reserves of iron ore reserves, the system of reserve use, reserve funding system and so on. Finally, according to China's national conditions, the writer put forward some legislative proposals of strategic reserves of iron ore.
