Passenger Train Operation Scheme (PTOS), on the Passenger Dedicated Line Net (PDLN), is considered as an important part of the operation and organization for passenger trains-lots of influence factors are involved, leading to the difficulty and complexity in its optimization and adjustment. With the continuous construction of PDLN, the formulation of a reasonable PTOS on it has become a core issue of passenger transportation in our country.Based on the practices and existing studies, PTOS should well reflect the business strategy and service quality. PTOS with good performance could improve the operational effectiveness and efficiency of passenger transportation and make good use of transport capacity, while attracting more passenger traffic, providing more satisfying traveling environment for passengers.Therefore, to explore a systematic and effective approach in solving the problems, involved in the formulation of PTOS on the PDLN, would be of great significance for the PDL construction and improvement. Meanwhile, with the results achieved in this paper, it could be expected that the coordination and optimization of the passenger organization on the PDLN will be remarkably improved.This paper described around the problems concerning the optimization and adjustment of PTOS on the PDLN. Based on the existing achievements, applying the research approaches of multi-disciplinary, the paper constructed related theory and method system, aiming at theoretically offering strong support for the concerned problem.The main work in this paper could be summarized as followed:(1) System Description and Chaotic Effect of PDLNThe paper firstly gave out a system description for the PDLN. By analyzing its constitution, we studied the type and characteristics of the PDLN system with the definition of the system boundary. In addition, we provided a discussion on the evolution of the system. Then, by use of chaos theory, an effect analysis was proposed for the PDLN system.(2)’Rough Set Theorj’-Based Passenger Flow Combination Forecasting ModelIn this part, the paper primarily discussed the pros and cons of various forecasting models by comparison. Integrated with the influence factors in the choice of proper predictive method, we presented’Rough Set Theory’-Based Passenger Flow Combination Forecasting Model on the PDLN. After that, we provided reliability and rationality analysis for the forecast results. In the end of this part, a designed experiment showed the effectiveness of the method proposed.(3) Optimization of PTOS on the PDLNThe paper gave out the definition and function of PTOS on the PDLN. Based on the analysis of its formulating principles, main content and influence factors, we assumed the related boundary of the PTOS formulation. Then, we put forward the methods for the determination of arrival-departure stations and stop scheme, as well as the design principles of the two. Considering the railway passenger transport profit, the passenger travel cost as well as the number of unserved passengers, PTOS optimization model was proposed with its further analysis and simplification. Finally, we presented the solution-oriented strategy and algorithm, and proved their effectiveness by experimental calculation.(4) Operation Scheme Adjustment Method for the PTOS on the PDLN based on the Dynamic Feedback Control of Passenger FlowThe paper in this part began with an introduction of feedback control theory, as well as an analysis of the cause, content and principle of the operation scheme adjustment for the PTOS on the PDLN. Then based on the dynamic feedback control of passenger flow, we proposed operation scheme adjustment method which is dedicated to the problem concerned. In the consideration of the feasibility of the method, an OD-matrix calculation model and algorithm were presented on the basis of dynamic feedback control of passenger flow. Given the disadvantages of current operation scheme formulation and adjustment, the paper provided related constructive suggestions. By the end, the system and function module of operation scheme adjustment were analyzed and designed.(5) Collaborative Optimization of the PTOS and Comprehensive Maintenance Gap on the PDLNBy providing the notion of importance degree of train level and key trains, the paper constructed collaborative optimization model for the PTOS and comprehensive maintenance gap on the PDLN. Then a model dedicated algorithm was designed and its effectiveness was verified by experimental practice.In the end. the main research conclusions were summarized and the main innovations were proposed. The questions that should be studied more and the prospects for the further work were presented in this paper.
