A new concept for the structural design of super high-rise buildings, energy-dissipationstory (EDS), in which the combinations of dampers and braces are substituted for outriggerbraces, has been proposed. The research in this dissertation makes a contribution in―systemdesign‖,―demand analysis‖and―member design‖by achiving the aim of analysis and designmethod about high-rise structure with energy-dissipation stories, the main works andachievements are as follows:1. The mechanical property tests on five high damping viscoelastic dampers were carriedout, fatigue tests and aging tests were also conducted to research their deformation propertyand energy dissipation capacity. The results show that the hysteresis curves of this kind ofhigh damping viscoelastic dampers are full and stable, and their deformation property, energydissipation capacity, anti-fatigue property and anti-aging property are good. According to thetesting results, the hysteretic behaviour of high damping viscoelastic dampers are simulatedwith five unit model proposed and Bouc-Wen model.2. High-rise building with energy-dissipation story was simplified as a modelof cantilever beam with rotational spring, Heaviside function was constructed, describing forthe modal function, in order to solve the model of partial differential equation. Then thedamping mechanism of high-rise building with energy-dissipation story could berevealed by explicit expression of vibration equation. Building the Vibration equation inMATLAB program for research on the dynamic responses of the simplified model.3. Simplified calculation formula of structural roof displacement in frame-core structurewith energy-dissipation story was derived. Study on various parameters, such as stiffness ratioand damping force ratio were discussed in ETABS program. The results show that i, g, padopted for optimizing the structural lateral stiffness are reasonable and feasible, and g shouldbe between0.9~3.5. Damping force ratio formula adopted for optimizing the structuraldamping is reasonable and feasible, and damping force ratio should not be more than1.0.4. Based on nonlinear time history analysis, damping control effect and energydissipation efficiency of different construction and different combination for High-risebuilding with energy-dissipation story were studied. Simple construction and good seismicmitigation effect scheme were provided. Influence of seismic mitigation effect for differentcombination of energy-dissipation story was obtained.5. A cantilever-toggle-brace viscous damper energy dissipation system was proposed,and its nominal displacement magnification was derived theoretically. Based on The validity and feasibility of the schemes in reducing structural vibration responses was fully approved inETABS and PERFORM-3D program, and the dampers’ Values of nominal displacementmagnification factor are in the range of3.0to5.0.6. Based on nonlinear time history analysis, top floor displacement, base shear, internalforces and the relationship between damping force of energy-dissipation story and story shearof the main structure with viscous energy-dissipation stories were investigated. Throughproduct algorithm formula and damping force ratio formula, the position and quantity ofenergy-dissipation stories and parameters of viscous damper were optimized. Then anoptimization design method is proposed and could be provided for the application.7. The force and deformation of structure with energy-dissipation story are investigatedin PERFORM-3D program, then the calculation formula of physical story drift for shearwallin energy-dissipation story was derived. The lateral deformation is controlled by threeparameters, such as structural story drifts, physical story drifts of shear wall at the bottomstrengthen area and shear wall in energy-dissipation story. The determination method of targetratio of lateral resistance is presented and verified.
