The Changsha Kiln is a Tang Dynasty kiln which is discovered in1950s. It locates at Wazaping, Shizhu, Wangchengcounty, Changsha city, Hunan province. The Changsha Kiln is a cultural heritage which is the most featured representative of Hunan regional culture. The things prototype of the Changsha Kiln and its digital representation is the essential problem of this dissertation. The basic research method is utilizing the theory of things prototype and digitalization to acquire and present things of the Changsha Kiln. By establishing the theory model, try to solve the problem of culture inheriting and developing of the Changsha Kiln.This research subject is from the national science and technology supported project "common key technologies based on the characteristics of digital and Hunan culture creative product design" of "public service platform construction based on the creative design of Hunan regional culture", and based on author’s research and work experience in Lab Virtual Prototyping&Reverse Modelling of Politecnico di Milano.The dissertation mainly consists of three theory fields:things prototype, digitalization and design. The main problems of things prototype study are the culture of objects inheritance and the culture of facts inheritance based on the prototype of things construction of the Changsha Kiln. The three aspect of things prototype study is the culture phenomenon, the relationship of facts and objects, and the deep culture pattern and cognitive pattern. The key problem of digitalization study is basing on the things construction of the Changsha Kiln things, using digital method to acquire, represent and utilize the things prototype of the Changsha Kiln. The key issue of design study is design creativity pattern driven by things prototype of the Changsha Kiln, the foundation is the design creativity based on the prototype heuristics and the prototype matching, the development of culture creative products is spread process of the design creativity. The dissertation chooses the Changsha Kiln as research object, through a series of research process such as scientific experiments, case analysis and digital methods to prove the validity, usability and practicability of the theory and technical methods.The basic content of this dissertation includes:the first chapter defines the category of research, terms and key problem basing on the literature review. The second chapter proposes the things prototype’s frame of the Changsha Kiln, the basic application paradigm of things prototype of the Changsha Kiln based on the prototype heuristics and the prototype matching, and discusses the specific digitalized method and technique foundation. Chapter three mainly focus on things of the Changsha Kiln basing on archaeological data, research literature and field trip. After verify the evidence and history data of the Changsha Kiln, study the Changsha Kiln’s significance of history background, culture influence, information communication and the Changsha Kiln’s forming principle, construction form, and material technology and modelling. Chapter four proposes the workflow of acquisition the things prototype of the Changsha Kiln and discussing the specific method and technique routings of objects prototype and facts prototype’s digital representation, the objects prototype digital representation is composed by shape, color and texture, according to the feature of the Changsha kiln. Preliminary explore the frame of source material and the basic organization of the things prototype. Chapter five proposes the design creativity mechanism based on the prototype heuristics and the prototype matching, built from the culture space and prototype theory. By facing on the creative product design of the Changsha Kiln, proposes the culture creative product’s development workflow driven by things prototype, explores the significant and value of creative design of things prototype’s feature application. Chapter six focuses on the demonstration of virtual reality and the choice of software technology, hardware device and construction of exhibit environment of human computer interaction, moreover, simulates some demonstration case in the laboratory.The research outcomes focus on the flowing three aspects:First of all, on the aspect of theory, explores a theory, technique and method system based on things prototype theory of district culture digital protection and creative product design. Proposes the research paradigm of things prototype and digitization, expand the perspective of culture study of the Changsha Kiln from archaeology to design. By using the routing of things construction, acquisition of things prototype and digital representation, analyzing the things prototype and things of the Changsha Kiln, the research proposes the basic application paradigm of the Changsha Kiln’s frame of things prototype and the basic application of things prototype, and proposes the design creativity mechanism based on the prototype heuristics and the prototype matching, built from the culture space and prototype theory. Research and case study show that the feasibility and practicability have an innovation significant of design study.Second, on the aspect of the Changsha Kiln’s things prototype, mainly studies the facts and objects of the Changsha Kiln basing on the evidence and history date such as archaeological data, research literature and field trip. After verify the evidence and history data of the Changsha Kiln, studying the Changsha Kiln’s significance of history background, culture influence, information communication and the Changsha Kiln’s forming principle, deconstruction form, and material technology and modelling. Proposes the workflow of acquisition the things prototype of the Changsha Kiln and discussing the concrete way and technique routings of objects prototype and facts prototype’s digital representation, digitally realizing the object prototype representation by shape, color and texture, according to the feature of the Changsha Kiln. Preliminary explore the frame of source material the basic organization of the Changsha Kiln.At last, this dissertation proposes the design creativity mechanism based on the Prototype-Based Heuristics and the Prototype Matching, built from the culture space and prototype theory. By facing on the creative product design of the Changsha Kiln, proposes the culture creative product’s development workflow driven by things prototype, explores the significant and value of creative design of things prototype’s feature application. Builds a digital district culture relic protection, demonstration and development frame based on information technology, internet technology and advanced manufacturing technology.
