Research On The Method Of Landscape Design From The Perspective Of Visual Arts

This paper uses visual arts theories and ideas as the strategy of finding the inherent nature of landscape design from the relevant vision theories, such as the way of the visual perception, the concept of visual arts, the guidance technology of the sight line, the formal language of visual arts. And it also analyzes the influence which the above all fields have on design ideas, design methods, aesthetic principles, knowledge construction etc. of the landscape. Besides that, it explains and demonstrates with many related cases. Try to find out the contact behind every single phenomenons, comb and explore the development rules of visual arts and landscape design methods, and study about the related innovative design methods.This paper is divided into four parts. The first part combs concepts of the landscape and the vision and the development history of the vision. As the basic problem in the research field of landscape’s visual arts, discussing the concepts of the landscape and the vision and their relevance can help us analyze how the visual arts combine with the landscape design closely in their continuous development. Then summarize visual theories, viewpoints of visual culture in the different historical periods by using times as links and focus on several keywords of the visual culture. After that, by reviewing processes of the discipline establishment and development of Chinese and western landscape design, it discusses the relationship between the visual theory and the construction of the landscape knowledge, and its effect in the development of the landscape’s education.The second part combines the theory of visual arts with the problem of landscape’s viewing way and analyzes the space shaping of the landscape from the perspective of vision. Propose that the analysis of the landscape viewing way and the research of the real landscape itself are equally important. At the same time, it further points out that the landscape viewing way and the viewed real landscape environment are the same. They are objective, in the construction, and in the dynamic change. The vision has its own way on the influence and constitution factors. The impact of these contents and the research of the landscape itself are equally important.The third part discusses visual guide methods which are very common in the landscape design and analyzes some typical cases deeply. Through the study, it proves the control techniques of the landscape vision is not only a kind of technical means, but also a kind of psychological persuasion and suggestion. By combining a variety of landscape elements tactfully in the specific environment design, it can control the visual perception of people. Finally, by the visual persuasion, it can convey the spirit and the emotion, and achieve the empathy.In the fourth part, the research focuses on the artistic attribute of the visual arts and divides the development processes of the landscape and the visual arts into three chapters since the Renaissance according to the time order: the Renaissance and Baroque period, the Neoclassical period and Romantic period and the Modern period. By the different periods of visual arts concept and visual way, it leads to the corresponding visual arts forms and searches for landscape forms and design concepts’ the methods in the corresponding period according to the inherent logic of visual arts. Sketch the development outline of landscape design in the different periods and its influence in the future. In this process, it puts different ideas and styles of visual arts, landscape design genres, designers and their design works from different areas together and make the horizontal comparison. Try to find the relationship of art concepts and expression forms between the landscape and the visual arts.
