Pork accounts for about 65% in the structure of meat consumption of residents, while pig breeding stock of China has accounted for about 50% of the whole world. For those reasons, breeding environmental quality control, disease control and early disease warning of farming animals has become core technologies in large-scale farming. Study on non-contact detection of temperature and PRRS for pig and disinfection equipment in swine house has been the most effective methods to obtain key parameters of individual health pig, to develop and promote environment control equipment of low-cost, high efficiency and energy saving, which can effectively control the disease of pigs.To satisfy the requirements of the project "Healthy Pig Farming and Environmental Optimization Technology and Equipment", one of the national science and technology support program of the twelfth five years plan and "Healthy Culture Process and Study on Key Technology and Equipment", the technology and equipment of PRRS characteristics detecting, and ambient air quality monitoring and control in swine house has been presented in this paper. Which provided technical support for the health benefits of pig farming.In order to quickly acquire pig’s temperature parameters, non-contact temperature detection technology was studied by comprehensive application of thermal infrared imaging technology, computer image processing technology, and improved OTSU algorithm. With all the programs running in MATLAB, the ear root zone of pig was got by exacting S layer image from thermal infrared image in HSV and by processing S layer binary image, which can totally represent pig’s body temperature. On this basis, the development of non-contact temperature detection system was developed.PRRS, also known as porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome, with reproductive disorders, difficulty in breathing, blue-violet ear, complicated by other infectious diseases as the main feature is a serious infectious disease in pig farming. To realize PRRS early warning of white pig, image matching method combined with active shape model (ASM) method was applied to extract white pig’s ear contour. For the PRRS pig has blue ears which have distinctive difference from healthy pig ears, the color of extracted pig ear can be compared with the healthy one by pixel tags training. By this method, whether the pigs suffering from PRRS can be early detected.Since air quality in swine house has significant impact on pig’s health and performance, pig house remote monitoring system with wireless sensor networks and GPRS mobile communications network has developed for intensive pig breeding house. The system uses vehicle terminal installed in a mobile patrol vehicle through a wireless WIFI module to collect the values of temperature, humidity, hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, PM1.0 and PM2.5 sensors loaded in the pig house. The data was transmitted to DTU via serial communication, and finally it was transferred to the database server of monitoring center through the GPRS network. The data collected was analized to decide when and how to regulate the environment parameters in pig breeding house, which can make sure pigs growing in the healthy environment.To control the environmental quality parameters, to monitor pig’s behavior and detect body temperature and blue ear disease any time in pig breeding house, the inspection and disinfection droid was designed and developed. The droid with DC servo motor drive, four-wheel independent steering was composed of the power supply system, the wheel drive systems, part of the sensor system, the data communication system and the implementation of disinfectant spray devices. It’s also equipped with mobile pig temperature automatic detection devices, blue ear abnormality automatic detection device, as well as environmental monitoring system devices. The droid can accept sensors data and transmit it to the central service center, and carry out regulation order.
