China is an agriculture country, and aquaculture is the pillar industries of agriculture. But most work of aquaculture is still judged by personal experience, automatic control level is low, because industrialized fishery relatively late and developed slowly in our country, In this there are a lot of shortcomings, increasing labor-intensive, consuming time and causing the death of fish because of untimely observing and error operating, In this paper, aiming at our country aquiculture current situation has developed an automatic detection and control system for aquaculture which is a combination of automation technology, microcontroller technology and virtual instrument technology. It can detect and control four main environmental parameters of the water level, temperature, dissolved oxygen and pH value timely and accurately.First of all, this paper put forward the overall design after the analyze of latest research of aquaculture all over the world, and establish a system monitoring dissolved oxygen, pH value, temperature and water level as the main monitoring objects. Select ATmage16 as lower machine core, each controller system are independent, it can detect the fish ponds under its jurisdiction, process information and then make control decisions, and it also have the function of communicating with the host computer. The upper computer is a PC with interface writing with Lab VIEW, it can preserve the data, display and print. This system has the function of environmental factor collection, automatic control, remote alarm and remote control.Taking the water quality and the best environment of fish living as the research object, the system makes conformity with fishpond, fish, and environment, and it can not only mirror the water field environment but also make the quick response to bad water quality. It also has good transplant. It is an exquisite panel that owner operates it easily and quickly to be handy. The system has applied pattern of dispersed control and centralized management, so it enhances the system reliability. In the fishpond, environmental factors may stabilize for a long time in the condition that is suitable for fishes under the growth. It saves the electrical energy and enhances the gain in yield.After laboratory testing and live debugging, the result shows that:the project can detect and control four main environmental parameters of the water level, temperature, dissolved oxygen and pH value timely and accurately, and make the corresponding control according to the setting; it can also decrease manpower and resources, reduce the interference of wireless system and costs, ensure the quality of communication. That shows the system is effective to monitor the quality and it is bound to be applied extensive.
