Clinical And Animal Experimental Study On Acupuncture Treatment Of Insomnia With Insomnia Theory

Objective:This study is to investigate the efficacy of acupuncture treatment of insomnia via insomnia theory, acupuncture treatment, and animal experiments, in an attempt to explore the possible mechanism of acupuncture treatment on insomnia.Methods:(1) clinical study:By randomly dividing68depression cases into two different groups, we had the acupuncture treatment group of35cases, and the western medicine control group of33cases.The acupuncture treatment group:By using acupoints including Gods needles, Neiguan, Sanyinjiao, changing, and based upon to the operation code into the needle, a virtual implementation of reinforcing and simplifying manipulation on acupuncture procedure with one time a day, six days for a course of treatment, each treatment one day off, and a total of3courses for a complete treatment is established.The control group of western medicine:The feedings of Estazolam, oral,1-2mg, before bedtime according to the instructions under the guidance of specialists were conducted.At the end of experimental courses, the collection of data and statistical estimation for two different groups were performed and correlated.(2) experimental research:By selecting45healthy Wistar rats of clean grade, irrespective of gender, weighing220-250g, four different groups including the blank group, the model group, the acupuncture group and the western medicine group,with10rats in each group, were adaptively fed for one week, and the results were analyzed by using SPSS18statistical package. In addition to the blank group,10rats, the rats by intraperitoneal injection of PCPA, copy the model of insomnia rats. The blank group per day on an empty catch without any treatment, model group were empty catch no treatment. The acupuncture group, acupuncture needle every day, sleep sink tight, the electroacupuncture apparatus, the welding time is10min., the20min. as a cycle of continuous repetition of acupuncture, acupuncture cycle5, a total of2.5hours of western medicine group were treated with diazepam, according to adult hypnotic dose of10mg/day, rat dosage of body surface area formula calculate the rats administered at a dose of0.92mg/kg.Results:1. Both acupuncture and diazepam can significantly reduce the TCM syndrome integral, and two effects are nearly equivalent.2. Therapeutic effect of insomnia by acupuncture is nearly the same as that of the Estazolam.3. Both acupuncture and diazepam can significantly reduce the Pittsburgh sleep quality index, and two effects are nearly equivalent.4. Acupuncture can increase the content of5-HT, NE in the brain tissue of rats.Conclusion:The effect of acupuncture treatment on insomnia is quite distinct and is equivalent to that of the Estazolam.The effect of acupuncture via the aid of brain with5-HT, NE content can achieve high therapeutic effect. This can be one of the possible mechanism for acupuncture in treating insomnia.
