Objective: Under the guidance of theories of traditional Chinese medicine andcombining with modern scientific and technological methods,we take Chinese medicinePeel of Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim. as the research object to provide scientific basisfor fine germplasm selection and resource development and quality control ofTrichosanthes kirilowii Maxim. by systematic correlation study on the yield,the qualityand germplasm,harvest time,drying time.Methods:Peelof Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim.fromdifferent germplasm,differentharvest time,different drying time were collected as experimental materials. Themorphology characteristics and the structure of the peels were observed.Thewater-soluble extracts were determined according to the cold maceration, thewater-soluble protein content,the total flavonoid ontent, the carbohydrate content weredetermined by UV, the amino acids content, the adenine content, the guanosine content,the citrulline content were determined by HPLC, the mineral element content weredetermined by ICP-MS,ICP-AES.The infrared spectrum of Trichosanthes kirilowiiMaxim. was established with pressing potassium.The chromatographic fingerprint ofTrichosanthes kirilowii Maxim. was established by high performance liquidchromatography.Results: There were correlations between the morphology characteristics and thecontent of chemical composition. There were significant differences on the morphologycharacteristics, yield, quality among different germplasm.The thickness and the weight ofthe strainⅡwere the highest. The water-soluble extracts content, the polysaccharidecontent, the total flavonoid content,the adenine content,the guanine nucleoside content, the citrulline content, the K、Ca、P、Mg、Fe、B、Sr、Mo、Cr content of the strainⅡwere the highest. The strainⅡ was the excellent strain,and could be furtheroriented cultivation. The morphology characteristics and the structure of the peels havechanged regularly during the growth,the water-soluble extracts content, the totalflavonoid content,the adenine content,the guanine nucleoside content, the citrullinecontent of the peels of Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim.had reached the highest nearmature,and had decreased when the peels appeared yellow and shrinkage. The content ofthe chemical composition have changed with the peel color changed. The morphologycharacteristics and the structure of the peel have changed regularly during the drying.The water-soluble extracts content, the total flavonoid content,the adenine content,theguanine nucleoside content, the citrulline content of the peel of Trichosanthes kirilowiiMaxim.had reached the highest near mature,and lower than the content of naturallymatured.HPLC fingerprint showed that there were differences in the quality and yieldamong different germplasm, different harvest time and different drying time of the peelsof Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim.Conclusion: The germplasm resource of Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim. inChangQing is rich.There are differences in quality and yield among different strains.The characteristics, anatomical structure, chemical composition content of peels ofTrichosanthes kirilowii Maxim.have changed regularly during growth and dryingprocess,that prompt us could increase the yield and quality by means of fine breeding,technical measures during fruit growth and drying process.
