He experienced the final rule of theQing Dynasty, Xinhai Revolution, the May4th Movement, the founding of theCommunist Party of China, the Anti-Japanese War, war of liberation, the founding ofnew China, Cultural Revolution, reform and opening up and the turn of the century,which are nearly all of the twentieth Century great history node. He comprehendedand experienced changing society and reform and development of Chinese music,musical education. It can be said, his musical achievements are engraved the strongage stigma, his music education thought and practice are with distinctive features oftimes.In Mr. He Lvting’s music education and career, the classic works which enjoygreat popularity continue to emerge. In order to solve these issues, we must summarize systemically andunderstand the one-hundred-year’s reform and development on Chinese modernmusic education, meanwhile deeply consider resolutions to current situation andissues. This chapter is divided into two parts. The first part concentrates on HeLvting’s life, highlighting his remarkable characteristics and traits as "hoe musician "and " the people’s musician ". The second part mainly discusses the He Lvting’stheory background, based on development background of Chinese modern musiceducation.
