There comes an interdisciplinary trend increasingly in the studies on Chinesemodern literature, because it is not more simple but more complecated whileresearchers try to separate literature from politics. It is not used in its broad sense ofpolitics when we discuss the17years(1949~1966) literature or literature of CulturalRevolution. It is well known that the literary expression in these periods is kind ofspecial externalization of political practice. Lots of research approaches are uesed inthe studies of Chinese modern literature which has been enriching and deepening ourcomprehension of modern literature when literary has to be discussed in a moretremendous historic space. This thesis observes on how factors of internationalGeopolitics got involved in the production of Socialist culture and literature throughremodeling people’s world view in a highly politicalized society, and Conversely, howthe literature writing under such a world view became the power of the concept ofrevolution. Imagination is such an ability which can not only find the real relationshipbetween things, but also find the ideal relationship. The revolutionary discourse playsan important role in the intertextual relationship between literature and the real world. What’s stressed out is that the imagination to the world in my thesis not only includespeople’s understanding to outside international situation in international geopoliticalperspective, but also points to a concept of the life world which is a cultural-generatingstructure in its own,and people depends on the structure to construct individual andcollective lives. In a sense the self-discipline world determines one’s selfunderstanding.I will summarize the thread of my dissertation:The first chapter I will explorethe relationship between War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea and politicalculture structure of The People’s Republic of China at initial stage. I would like toemphasize the ability of mobilization and narrative strategy which play an importantrole in the process of establishing national subjectivity and Cultural Subjectivity.External pressure which come from War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea established the validity of Intellectuals thought reform movement. But the operatingmode which depend on mass movement which originates from War exception statuscontributing factor of establishment of political culture structure of The People’sRepublic of China. The second chapter focuses on cultural contradiction ofDevelopmentalism in China’s “Great leap forward" Socialist period.“Great leapforward"policy guidance is originated in Radical imagination of socialist system. Butthe Watchword: Catching up with the British and overtake the US" means theconception of capitalist country was rent in two, On the one hand it is a proper objectdepreciated by socialist ideology, on the other hand its has potentially become aSuccessful Model of modernity which socialist society want to exceed. The thirdchapter begin with communication which has expanded during1960’s between Chinaand the Asia, Africa and Latin America and focuses on “Third World” the concept ofrevolutionary Space Production and Collective Memory. The forth chapter will todiscuss influence between break-off of Relationship between China and U.S.S.R andthe rise of Chinese Leftist literary thought. The break-off of Relationship betweenChina and U.S.S.R means the integrity of communist world outlook has disintegrated.Practice of China’s Socialist literature come to a Snowballing Crisis owing to a sharpcontrast between revolutionary theory and present world.
