Since the beginning of the birth of the film to the1950s or so, due to the conservative social attitudes, harsh film censorship, films about gay were stricken legally, shackled and suppressed by ethical and market multiple. Mainstream films presented the stereotypical image of the "alien" gay with derogatory connotations, such as the marginal image of the "sissy","criminals" and "Vampire".Those demonized images became the staple gay "the other "identity. Mainstream films about gay, the "other" characterization catered to mainstream society prejudice and discrimination against gay, which became evidence for the social construction of negative gay identity, which in turn exacerbated the prejudice and discrimination against gay, posed mainstream barriers to communication with marginalized groups, and brought severe self-identity crisis of gay.The fourth chapter discusses gay screen image of the self-characterization and marginalization, including the hidden gay context and sub-text and "gay movie", gay image and its identity construction. Part of the mainstream movies rich in gay subtext hidden text and sub-text, were written and directed by staight filmmakers who were sympathetic or took a diversification strategy in creation, to convey gay message in a obscured and fuzzy way despite all sorts of limitations. In addition, due to changes in the trend of the times and the improvement of the situation of gay reality, from the1960s to the1980s, there has been a large number of "gay movie" in the west. These films presented repressed self-identity of gay, characterized gay gender identity confusion and identity lost by "love can not say","suppressed passions" and tragic fate theme. At the same time,"gay movie" construct entity of gay and their "alternative" identityby "abnormal discourse"The fifth chapter discusses queer image and its ironic characterization. This part mainly analyzes "queer film" Queer (Gay) image and its significance since the late1980s, early1990s till today. The queer image is diverse and complex and difficult to classify, this chapter only explores the identity traits of the two most common queer image, the alternative queer and queer youth. Though Queer theory is to disperse identity, but in fact it only disperses essentialist concept of identity, and establishes the fragmented, flowing identity of postmodern age. Queer identity in the new queer film context can be summarized as "across identity Carnival:queer gaze, easy to install, to construct a sense of identity, and out of the closet, Kemp to establish the identity of pride and joy. The chapter concludes with a case analysis of "The Crying Game", a representative queer masterpiece. It looks into queer connotation and queer theory to conduct a study on this new queer film inherent in same-sex intercourse "and" erotic triangle "relationship. The sixth chapter is a summary and discussion section. Intercultural significance of the gay screen image of the evolution of identity construction are presented from the perspective of intercultural communication. Movies gay image othering, marginalization and ironic characterization, reflect the process of human development, human gender awareness from being imcomplete to complete. Incomplete gender awareness is bound to bring a intercultural obstacles. This suggests that based on the concept of intercultural and equal rights, we have to transcend cultural barriers in order to promote the free communication and integration of people, groups and between groups.By the above examination, the paper also demonstrats the interaction between gay screen image and the public, society, culture.gay as "human shadow" plays a vital complementary role of human expression. Gay screen image changes not only show the changes in the situation of gay in mainstream culture system but also become a refraction of the situation of mankind as a whole. Gay image screen evolution is precisely the marginalized groups and mainstream groups gradually improve and perfect the process of cross-cultural communication. The research on one hand is to promote the gay image culture, on the other hand s to help bridge the gap between different cultures. Gay Film and its research development will contribute to the performance of other marginalized groups as an important media reference.
