With the high development of globalization and urbanization in nowadays, various spatial problems are becoming more and more serious, and the space research is also becoming a famous doctrine. Unlike many of the existing space researches, this thesis aims to introspect and propose some problems about "Spatial Aesthetics", by aesthetic thinking for David Harvey’s spatial theory. This "Spatial Aesthetics" is not refers to those specific space aesthetic decoration behaviors, or cross-border integration for "Art Text" and "Space Theory". Properly speaking, it will focus on a "Big Aesthetics", which based on "the spatial ethicality". We can call it "Spatial Virtue", it stems from an imagination that the "Space" regarded as a "Sanctuary" of human existence:Space is not only the geographic field for humans’dwelling, communication and producing activity, but also the spiritual home which can bring us inner peace. So, the significance of "Spatial Virtue" can be summarized as a spiritual experience beyond the "present space", it starts from specific spaces, but goes further than that.David Harvey’s spatial criticism is precisely targeted the modern alienation trends of "Spatial Virtue". In his opinion, Human living spaces, such as building spaces and natural spaces, are becoming more and more inhumane which go with many kinds of imagination for the Modernity, Capital and Power. They disregard humanity and ethicality in Space. Based on this, Harvey is advocating the return of Humanity for Space strongly, and constructing a "Hopeful Space" for the future world by an ethical imagination of "Spatial Justice". This academic awareness is full of humanistic care reflects the differences between Harvey and other space theorists, in this sense, that forms valid echo with the "Spatial Aesthetics" which we want discuss. So this thesis is not a traditional research or a literacy class for Harvey’s spatial theory. It intends to explore the aesthetic value in Harvey’s spatial theory fully, arrive and discuss the problems about "Spatial Aesthetics" via "Spatial Theory".
