The Research Of The Study Of The Book Of Songs In Yuan Dynasty

Yuan Dynasty is the most special period in the history of the study of the book of Songs(《诗经》). Zhu Xi’s Shi Ji Zhuan (《诗集传》) represents the highest achievement on the study of the Book of Songs in Song Dynasty, which becomes the apotheosis of the explanation of the Book of Song in Yuan Dynasty. For this reason, modeling Zhu Xi is destined to be the major characteristics of the Study of the book of Songs in Yuan Dynasty. Nevertheless, modeling Zhu Xi does not mean to lost independent and self-value. Though the study of the book of Songs in Yuan Dynasty is covered by the influence of Shi Ji Zhuan, it still shows the feature complexity and diversification. It is the writer’s intention to research the study of the book of Songs in Yuan Dynast comprehensively and systematically by analyzing the works of the book of Songs and academic background in Yuan Dynasty.The thesis consists of five chapters, closely related to two aspects:the review of the issue and the study of the main works of the book of Songs. The first chapter is the outline of the study of the book of Songs in Yuan Dynast, which focus on the academic background, the phase change and the textual research on the works.The second chapter discusses the academic phenomenon of modeling Zhu Xi by analyzing the reason why Shi Ji Zhuan becomes the apotheosis of the explanation of the book of Song and revealing the common features of the works of the book of Songs in Yuan Dynasty. Chapters Three and Four are the monographic study of the works that model and develop Shi Ji Zhuan. Firstly we devided this kind of works into four categories, and then analyze prominent features of each work to reveal Individual characters. The five chapter is analysis of the other works which are not closely related to Shi Ji Zhuan. At last, we can make a summary of the achievement, deficiency and influence to the Study of the book of Songs in Yuan Dynasty. To achievements, we should say such as perfecting Shi Ji Zhuan, promoting the research of the book of Songs on its literary interpretation, exegesis and revision, conserving bibliography. To deficiencies, such as the failure to develop influencing school and be partial to Shi Ji Zhuan. The Study of the book of Songs in Yuan Dynasty has made great influence in the later generations. It reflects on the continuation of phenomenon of modeling ZhuXi in early Ming Dynasty, the research of years, ancient Chinese sounds and literary interpretation in late Ming Dynasty, and the imperial examination becoming the important factors of development of the study the book of Songs.
