Shanxi folk music, including Zuoquan folk songs, Hequ folk songs, Taiyuan Lianhualao, Datong Shulaibao, Pingyao Mangshu, Wu Xiang Qinshu, Zhangzi Gushu, Huguan Yangge, is mainly discussed in the thesis. These music varieties are a kind of rare intangible cultural heritage left by the history. With the development of the society, population flow, change of life, education and environment, fewer and fewer people of the younger generation can completely take the heritage of folk music. In particular, the impact of modern media is making the non-material cultural heritage disappear. Rescuing and inheriting the folk music has become a significant responsibility on the shoulders of contemporary musicians. However, it is far from enough to merely have the records to save and inherit the rich cultural heritage, and it is the most important thing to hold a deep understanding of these folk music theories, and on this basis to inherit and develop them. Therefore, the author uses dialectology to give a detailed interpretation of features of the voice, vocabulary and grammar embodied in "Shanxi folk music", adopts experimental acoustic method to analyze and study Shanxi folk music, to explore the inherent law to guide the learner to learn to sing, providing an important basis for the establishment of objective assessing criteria. At the same time, the perspective of dialectology can contribute to a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the artistic characteristics of Shanxi folk music, the development and revitalization of the Shanxi folk music, hence provides a very important reference value for strongly push the inheriting and development of folk art in China.The paper is divided into six sections. The specific contents are as follows:The first part is introduction, which is followed by the background, significance of the thesis, researches abroad and at home, subjects and sources of materias and research ideas, procedures and methods are also clarified. The innovation part lies in:First, it is the first time to systematicly study the libretto and speaking of the folk music, revise dialect words in libretto and speaking, phonetic errors and interpretation, providing accurate scripts for its developing into the world. Second, the experimental acoustic is a new way used to analyze the "Shanxi folk music", thus broadens the the Shanxi folk music research fields, enhances the " Shanxi folk music" research height. Third, initially conduct a comprehensive study of rhythm, syntax, etc; the relationship between melodies of Shanxi folk music and dialect tone values and intonation, so benefits to the study of musicology, dialectology and the history of Chinese speech.The second part mainly deals with the words choice, phonetic and interpretation of words used in Shanxi folk song lyrics. Chapter one is the interpretation of the dialect in Zuoquan folk songs. Chapter two is the interpretation of the dialect in Hequ folk songs.The third part:is a detailed study of the words choice, phonetic and interpretation of words used in Shanxi folk music. Chapter three is the interpretation of the dialect in Taiyuan Lianhualao. Chapter four is the interpretation of the dialect in Datong Shulaibao. Chapter five is the interpretation of the dialect in Pingyao Mangshu. Chapter six is the interpretation of the dialect in Wu Xiang Qinshu.The fourth part outlines a systematic study of the words choice, phonetic and interpretation of words used in Shanxi local operas. Chapter seven is the interpretation of the dialect in Zhangzi Gushu. Chapter eight is the interpretation of the dialect in Huguan Yangge.The fifth part is the ninth chapter, the experimental acoustic analysis and study of Shanxi folk music. Based on case studies of Zuoquan folk songs, Taiyuan Lianhualao, Datong Shulaibao, by the use of the experimental acoustic analysis method, the following conclusions can be made:First, in various operas, singing tone is higher than said tone, tone pitch range is wide; Second, in various operas, the tone pitch, the strength of sound intensity are not necessarily linked, which is similar to natural spoken statement; Third, significant difference exists in various operas song tones and natural sounds of spoken language.The sixth part is the Conclusion and outlook. In this thesis, through the first systematic study of the libretto and speaking of the folk music, revise dialect words in libretto and speaking, phonetic errors and interpretation, presents a foundation for its developing into the world. Through conducting a comprehensive study of rhythm, syntax, etc; the relationship between melodies of Shanxi folk music and dialect tone values and intonation, so benefits to the study of musicology, dialectology and the history of Chinese speech. Especially through the case study of the acoustic characteristics of the three varieties, offers specific guidance to scholars when they are tutoring students how to sing well the " Shanxi folk music". The linguistics methodology, especially the Chinese dialectology empirical study, is adopted in this thesis to give a scientific interpretation of the laws of Shanxi folk music inspired by Shanxi dialect impact, to deepen the study of the morphology of the Shanxi folk music, to expand the scope of application of the research results of Shanxi dialect, build a Chinese language music discipline, so it has a very important significance.
