On The Relationship Between Fiction Before Song Dynasty And Early Poetical Notes Of Song Dynasty

From the books such as Hanwu Gushi and Shishuo Xinyu,there were records.about the poets,poetical story and criticisms about the poems in Chinese fiction.Tang Dynasty is the prime time of poetry,with its distinguished poets and abundant poetical works,and the anecdotes about the poets and poetical works were widespread.During the Tang Dynasty and Five Dynasties,anecdote novels were abundant,many of which include the criticism about poetical works and the stories of the poets and the poems.A review of the novels from early Tang Dynasty and late Tang Dynasty will unfold that with the passage of time,there was a growing tendency of the inclusion of these contents.Form the sparse recordation in Chaoye Qianzai in early Tang Dynasty to the single chapter in Datang Xinyu and the emergence of poetic notes such as Benshi Shi and Yunxi Youyi,the anecdote fiction attached much importance to the theme of the poetical stories,which made the appearance of Song poetical notes possible.Basically,Poetical notes in early Sony Dynasty recount the story about the poems,most of which are the discussion of the poems and the stories about the poems,so they are not rich in theory and follow the practice of recording a great many anecdotes.They are also influenced by anecdote fiction in form; they recount anecdotes in categories,and are flexible in narration, which means they sometimes record words or stories or correct or analyze the stories.Their freedom in narration and expression ensured poetical notes were still adopted in the following years.So such a conclusion can be arrived at that anecdote fiction of Tang Dynasty and Five Dynasties exerted great influence on the poetical notes of Sony Dynasty both in content and form.As to the relationship between anecdote fiction and the poetical notes,there are some sparse criticism made by scholars like Guo Shao yu and huo Genze,but there is a lack of systematic analysis about the tendency of growing recordation of the poetical notes in anecdote novels and its influence on the poetical notes,which led to the latter' s appearance directly. Also there is little concern about the influence of marvels fiction on the poetical notes.This paper,following the chronological order, will explore the recordation of the stories about the poets and the poems in Sui Dynasty,Tang Dynasty and Five Dynasties,analyze the subsequent phenomena,and make an overall and systematic research on the relationship between anecdote fiction and the poetical notes.
