Study Of Wu Guanzhong’s Oil Painting

Wu Guanzhong is a famous contemporary painter in China. He takes Lin Fengmian’s view of fusion of east and west as a basis to integrated the oil paiting with Chinese culture. He integrates the spirit of traditional Chinese painting with the language form of western modern oil painting to create the oriental mood and spirit. Wu Guanzhong pursuit unification of formal beauty and artistic beauty. He emphasizes formal beauty. But formal beauty is in the service of the artistic conception. He enriches the connotation and the depth of the oil painting. Meanwhile, he maintains the purity and visual impact of the oil painting’s ontological language. He has own language of the oil painting.I spread my points in five aspects to discuss and study on Wu Guanzhong’s oil painting. First of all, I roughly outlined the art of WuGuanzhong’s life. Then i detailed analysis and research the development of WuGuanzhong’s oil panting. I comb the development venation of his art and summarize his oil painting language in every stage. Further summarize the individual beauty of his oil painting. His oil painting is different from oil painting of other arter for fusion of east and west. He emphasizes formal beauty. He integrate the spirit of traditional Chinese painting with the language form of western modern painting. He takes all means to pursuit formal beauty. He takes the pen and ink of traditional Chinese painting to oil painting. The Chinese Charm and the Spirit of China are reflected on the language of oil painting. On the basis of these discussions, i further discuss the deep reason of why generating Wu Guanzhong’s oil painting. As a Ph.D.Student practicing in oil painting, I summarize the significance and enlightenment of Wu Guanzhong’s oil painting in the final part of this paper.So to speak, Wu Guanzhong’s oil painting is result of fosion of east and west on the basis of Chinese and Western culture. He has a unique personality language, he is a successful case of the fusion of Chinese and Western art.
