For many minority nationalities, their religious culture is the core of their culture. There is an extremely close relationship between religion and literature, thus lots of narratives about the religion emerge in ethnic minority novels (Chinese version) in new historic stage. Therefore, the research of their religious culture is inevitable if we want to learn the distinct of the literature of ethnic minorities. This dissertation takes the novels by Tibetan nationality and the Hui nationality which are universal religion nationalities as examples to get a further research of the relationship between religious culture and ethnic minority narratives.This dissertation focuses on the functions of religious elements in the composing of literary narrative from the bellowed four aspects:the relationship between the religion and the ethnic minority literature, the influences of the religion on narrative novels, the rhetoric technique of the religion in literary texts, and the possibility of religious aesthetic. The combination of religion and literature becomes an unique convey of ethnic culture, which is a new writing technique in Chinese novels and differs from the literature of the Han nationality. For many minority nationalities, religion is their common concept but it plays an important role in literary narrative. Hence, religious logic provides more fodder for their daily life. The importance of religion elements presents when the roles face the conflicts about love and hate, life and death. Furthermore, we can see the changes of time and space, the dimensionality of the narrative by religious culture from the writing strategies. The changes of the writers’logic reflect the rootedness of ethnic cultures in China. However, our research about religious influences of the literature pays more attentions on preexisting works. Actually, the research not only directs to the present but for the future. The literary translation of the religion should obey the rules of the literature; meanwhile the religious translation of the literature promotes the quality of the works which enlighten human souls.
