A Study On Time Sequence Category In Modern Chinese

The world is multidimensional, but the language is one-dimensional, therefore the linear of language determines that the discourse must be framed by the time mode. When the world is converted from a multi-dimension to one-dimension, the expresser is bound to select the order of discourse. In this article we will name the expression sequence as the time sequence category, and mark coexistence in space and time means things or state form called formal mark of time sequence. As "two basic model of human cognitive, that is parallel model and serial model that reflects the classic" is "the source of all the non-relationship of components." In conventional studies, this type of forms classify into joint category by most scholars. Its research mainly start from structure, and classify their semantic categories. This classification standard makes the same mark belong to different classification because of the different meaning items. But for the marker of different categories, the studies is concentrated in the word property of abstraction.The former separates the contact of labeled forms as a whole, although the latter make clear the path, but unify the explanation of "basic meaning" to " sequence meaning", it leads to the lack of a reasonable interface between this continuum.Therefore, we will change the perspective from the markedness itself to “the timing sequence expression”, so that these forms can explore in a unified paradigm.The paper is divided into seven parts.First, the introduction. We start from the specific phenomenon, and then we give the current studies of the problems. On this basis, we introduce research ideas, research methods and the sources of the corpus. We do the research from two time perspective, one is from the sequence of the presentation and other is from the presentation of the event into the proved category, and we explore the nature of the timing, scope, characteristics and forms. We combining research methods and statistical analysis, macro and micro analysis research methods, to induct and deduct the timing visible form. For the corpus, this paper mainly uses the Beijing spoken corpus, China Peking corpus linguistics Research Center and the Northern Chinese language corpus.Second, the study reviewed. This chapter first gives a brief introduction of the Domestic association markers and the discourse markers. On this basis, To mark time and space on the coexistence of things or the state means, we give the review and a simple sort of the discourse markers. By summing up the previous research, we find these markers are studied from more structured form, to use the atomic formula isolated analysis to mark their semantic function. Although this study effectively reveal individual characteristics mark, but it cannot mark the status of the system as a whole.Third, the construction of timing sequence category. As an expression category, timing sequence category is the usage of language. In other words, "Timing the category" researches "human put to use language." At present, "Pragmatic" that the Chinese scholars research is "only related with the syntax pragmatic factors." Therefore, in this paper we will distinguish between "Pragmatic of three planes " and "Morris pragmatics", and the latter as the theoretical basis of the timing sequence category. And as a starting point, to observe expressers how to refract from real-world events into the language of the world. In order to prove the existence of the timing sequence category, firstly we will start from the perspective of two kinds of time, that is event time and presentation time. The event exist in time sequence, discourse is constructed in time sequence, discourse sequence accord with time sequence, and sometimes is inconsistent, both "order " and also " reverse ", that is not a sequence of events determine the order of presentation, but the expresser choose whether expressed sequence coincides with the sequence of events. In other words there is an expression levels between the event levels and the discourse levels. On the basis of proof of the existence of the expression level, base upon dimensions of the expresser, in order to further determine the existence of the timing sequence category, we explored the scope and nature of the timing sequence.Fourth, the means of timing sequence. Firstly, we looked back associated parallel marks that be divided according to semantic representation and indicate juxtaposition. We also looked back discourse markers that depends context of words to divide landmarks of language units. Based on these studies, we make the definition of the timing sequence in this paper. Secondly, we classified the means of timing sequence forms from the angle that express the relationship of events.Fifth, the relationship between the forms of timing sequence and the events. According to the classification of the previous chapter, we will analyze the forms of timing sequence of the relationship between the events. Firstly, we discussed the relevant events that marked with sequential or non-sequential order. Among the events, the sequence of events related to the event discuss from the position that observed event the means that mark the starting, undertaking and end;The events of non-sequential order discussed that mark sequential events with non-sequential form of expression and marked overlap in time sequence of events with means of time sequence expression. Secondly, we explored the non-associated markers and associated with non-related events.Sixth,The realizing of the Timing Category in Chinese discourse. This chapter analyzed the realization of the timing sequence in the structural level, location, sentence category, genre etc.. On the structural level, the timing sequence applies in the complex sentence and sentence group; while on the syntax level, it appears in the beginning of sentence or emerges between the subject and the predicate of the sentence; furthermore, timing sequence can be realized in different sentence categories, the statements, the questions, the exclamatories and the imperatives; and on the genre level, the timing sequence can be distributed in the formal style and the informal ones as well.Lastly, the Conclusion. We established a new category of expression from the Expression Aspect. By Category timing, nature, scope, characteristics, form expression analysis, we showed the importance of the principal factors in the study of body language. Because this model involves many factors related to the construction, it should also be a timing pattern to generate a comprehensive explanation, and this refers to be further explored.
