Children in middle childhood are in the Industry versus Inferiority stage. In this stage, children enter school, and study hard for learning knowledge, form a kind of understanding of fulfillment and a sense of achievement, which can overcome the possible inferiority. Therefore, the academic performance of middle childhood children is important that they get a hard feeling to complete the development tasks. But with the popularization and development of the Internet, children’s Internet use are increased year by year, pupils become one of the most youth Internet population with obviously growth. The effect of Internet use on academic problem should be taken into account for the study.Previous studies on the relations between Internet use and academic performance mainly involve the problematic Internet use, emphasized the excessive Internet use time, the bad network behavior and the negative impact of academic achievement. But, after all, Internet addiction is only a limit issue while most of children can use the Internet normally and benefit from it. We should pay attention to the development of the most normal children who adapt to the Internet. In the existing studies using cross-sectional study, they concern the effects of children use time with average every week and the use of specific content on academic achievement so that the results are quite different. The reasons for the discrepancy is lack of multiple variables and cross-sectional study design. And whether parents’s monitoring function on the traditional media can also apply to the new media of the Internet is also relatively scarce in existing research topic. Therefore, based on the existing research situation, this research firstly adopted four years tracking study to investigate the relationship between Internet use and academica for testing "decay hypothesis" and "stimulate hypothesis". In order to do that, this paper examined the internet use (Internet use time in weekday and weekend) and academic performace (the scores of Reading and Maths). Then, using the grounded theory of qualitative research to explore the parents for the children’s basic attitude and affecting factors of the use of the Internet, the theory of children’s Internet use from parents’ monitoring system was structured fundamentally and the scale of parents strategy for children’s Internet use is tesed by children and parents. Finally, the research selected 3481 students and 2398 parents (2288 matched data) as large sample study to explore the effect of children’s perceived monitoring strategy and monitoring strategies used by parents on the relationship between Internet use and academic performance.Based on it, the specific research design and the results of this paper are as follows:1. The effect of children’s Internet use on academic achievement(1) children’s Internet use time and academic performanceResearch from children usually use two aspects of time and using time over the weekend by Hierarchical Liner Models respectively to investigate impact on Chinese and Math. The result shows that:Grade 3 to Grade 6 children use the Internet at ordinary times time was 32.1 minutes (SD= 63.6), and use the Internet Weekend time during the weekend time was 82.7 (SD= 118.0). Each grade children usually use time is significantly less than the use of time at the weekend, and expand the difference with the increase of grade. From the grade differences, and children usually use the Internet and the weekend of the time from grade 3 to grade 5 showed a trend of gradual growth. Individual differences are also on the increase, and Grade 6 children and use the Internet at the weekend time begin to decline at ordinary times individual differences are narrowing. Three grade children use the Internet to significant gender differences,4th and 5th grade only use time at the weekend there were significant gender differences, gender differences are not significant and the sixth grade. Boys, in general, the use of the Internet time is generally higher than girls. From the point of development trend, children use the Internet and weekend at ordinary times presents the linear growth, namely time increased with the growth of grade. Children use the Internet to the initial level is higher, the faster the rising trend, there is a significant individual differences Finally, children’s Internet use at ordinary times has a significant negative effect on mathematics performance, and use of time at the weekend for Chinese and math scores were there is a significant negative prediction function. That is to say, for the time dimension of children’s Internet use, using the weekend time can significantly influence the academic performance of children, and the use of time at ordinary times can only predict math scores.(2) children’s Internet use activities and academic achievementResearch from the network information retrieval, online social networking, the perspective of these three categories of leisure and entertainment network activity by using cross lag analysis respectively to investigate impact on Chinese and Math. The result shows that:Children using Internet access to information is the main activity class, and social activities are relatively less, this trend does not change over time. Children’s Internet use content there are gender differences and grade differences. Boys in the class information network activity using frequency is higher than girls, grade five children’s use of the frequency of the access to information than grade three and grade four. Activity and social interaction, and no significant changes with time, also no significant differences between boys and girls, but the three grade significantly below the 4th and 5th grade, fourth grade significantly below grade five, namely children older than younger children more social activities on the Internet. Likewise, recreational activities have significant grade differences of older children more than the younger children use the Internet for entertainment. Before time measurement after on network information retrieval language result has a significant role, while the other two kinds of Internet use in measuring after prediction effects were not significant. Before measuring the language result of measurement after only predict significant recreational activities, the network information acquisition activity had no significant influence, therefore, can improve the network information acquisition can predict children’s language. Three kinds of network activity can predict in Math.2 Parents’ attitude towards children’s Internet use and strategyResearch through in-depth interviews and open questionnaires, using the grounded theory to explore the parents’ attitude and influence factors. The exploratory factor analysis method is used to prepare the children’s Internet use parental controls inventory, the confirmatory factor analysis method to test scale samples in children group, and the applicability of the parent population sample. In the conclusion are as follows: Parents think the Internet in the physical, psychological and studies three aspects have impact on children. First of all, parents worry about too much use network to cause a decline in children’s eyesight, brain development is slow, reduce sports affect the healthy development of the body. Second, parents believe that the use of the Internet to promote exchanges between the friendship, may also be the network environment, which leads to the offline communication could not be normal, some parents think that the Internet can improve children’s ability to solve problems, have parents insist children too dependent on the network can’t independent thinking. Parents also mentioned that children use the Internet for their attention and control have hurt. Finally, some parents think that use the Internet for all kinds of knowledge on the network information can improve the child’s academic performance, are helpful to children’s study. Some parents tend to the negative influence of network on children’s academic performance.Parents’ attitude on children use the Internet each are not identical, the factors influencing parents attitude includes the following several aspects:first, in view of the network brings the huge amounts of knowledge, parents support children use the Internet, and due to the good and bad are intermingled information clutter and against the children use the Internet. Second, the parents’ meeting according to the child’s own situation to determine whether to support their children use the Internet. Third, environmental factors also affect the parents’ attitude, the popularity of the Internet enhances the acceptance of parents for children use the Internet.3 the effect of Parental strategy on relationship between Internet use and academic performanceResearch selected 3481 students and 2398 parents, form 2288 matched data as horizontal large sample study of children’s perceived monitoring strategy and monitoring strategies used by parents to children between Internet use and academic performanceConclusions are as follows:children perceived time limit, screening, intervention strategies and parents use strategy can affect children’s mathematics performance, but in the end she only children’s awareness of strategies to between Internet use and mathematics performance at ordinary times. Screening strategies used by parents and children’s perceived intervention strategies were significantly predict language result, but only the filter used by parents and children perceive the intervention strategy of Internet use on the weekend between the Chinese and a dramatic adjustment. For the math grades, only children’s perceived screening strategy has a significant regulatory role. Finally, screening strategies used by parents and children are perceived screening strategies can significantly predict language result, but only children’s perceived screening strategy in network information retrieval and adjustment between language result is remarkable. All in all, children’s Internet use can significantly predict mathematics performance at ordinary times is reduced, and the use of network information to obtain such activity can improve children’s language result. Parents think the Internet will use from physical, psychological and academic influence on the development of children, parents for children to use the attitude of the Internet is different, the particularity of the network, children’s individual differences, and environmental factors can influence the attitude of parents. Parents from flash, screening, intervention, and check the five dimensions to monitor Internet use for children. Among them, Children’s perceived time strategy to relieve children’s use of the negative influence of math at ordinary times, children’s perceived intervention strategies can be used in children at the same time the weekend of the negative influence of Chinese and math when protection, screening strategies used by parents has only alleviate the impact of the weekend to use the language result, finally, children’s perceived intervention strategy promote more network information retrieval to improve the language result.
